Just recently went from $50.00 to $100.00 on most events. I find more and more are paying up front or giving bigger deposits anyway so it's not an issue here
Here is what I am going to do.........
$100 Booking fee.......but I will increase my booking price by $100. If my client ends up doing their event, I will give them their $100 back. If a client cancels within 30 days, they will be responsible to pay 50% of the total booking price. If they cancel with more than 30 days, I still keep the $100.
When I really thought about it, I would make more money, charging $100 EXTRA, as compared a client saying 50% is just way too much to "hold" a date. Yes I would like to screen my clients and see how serious they are, but even I, as a customer, would probably balk at 50% down. Ishda!
50% with contract and the other 50% at the finalization or 30 days before, whichever is closer to the date. The 50% is a positive cash flow measure in addition to them being serious about me.
goodnight, arent you in maryland? isnt 25% the legal limit for a deposit for contract work in Maryland?
