Rack Mountable DJ Controllers - end of an era?

I've been thinking about getting one of those 1U all in one units like that. I only take a few CD's that I pre mixed just for a back up, but a duel player and controller takes up 4U spaces so I may pull that out and go with something else someday.
I haven't made an audio CD in years. I carry multiple 2Gb external hard drives for my laptop and my iPad and iPhone (both carry needed music). I have a complete backup laptop kept in the car for bigger events .. otherwise I can get by with the tablet.

^^^^ Pretty much the same. I make several playlists for each event, and I make sure to have all the tracks from those playlists on my iPad Mini. Both of my systems have two computers, plus I have a laptop with a full copy of my library that I can pull out in an emergency. I don’t even carry any CD’s, so a CD player is useless for me.

I got the Denon unit in case someone else had a CD. My newer laptops don't have a CD drive any more.

I have 3 main CD's that I made years ago. One rock/blues, one EDM and one country/oldies. There just there in case something happens and I just need some music coming out of the PA. I almost never use it, though I keep it Q'ed up just in case.

I used to have rack mounted computers in both of my systems, and they all had DVD R/W’s... Never used them even once. Now, the AIO computer in my Small System has a built-in DVD drive, but neither of the Nano computers in my Large System have DVD players. So... I carry one of these in my Gig Bag...f3facd7543081b00af63208be6ed7142.jpg
... just in the very RARE case that someone will want me to play one. Now, most people want you to play something from their phone, so I have Bluetooth they can connect to for that.[emoji4]

The Denon MC6000 MKII controllers are now discontinued.

Many of us liked the convenience of using a rack-mountable controller. I have been using Denon for years.

Now that Denon is no longer making a rack-mountable controller, there aren't many options.
As of now, not interested in a table-top format. That may have to change.
Do you have that controller? I do and I love it! So why not continue to use that controller? I have mine in a case with a built in laptop shelf. The case is a Pro X. Just because it's discontinued doesn't mean you can't find one. I'm curious as to why they discontinued that controller? What will they replace it with?

Maybe not the "freshest" set up....Atleast you had fresh breath
 cc

yeah I'm old school. I keep thinking I should get a controller, but it really wouldn't change the way I do things, and in the past month I have got two $300 tips, that would have just about paid for a controller, but why at this point? LOL

You can't argue with success, although it is much easier to slow a songs Tempo (something I do a lot since I gig for 60+ year olds) with a controller vs a James Caan Rollerball mouse.
