I had someone asking me for help regarding a DMX Go control system. I've never used or even seen one - but I suspect that the breakdown he experienced was that the iPad to controller connection requires a wifi network connection (not bluetooth) and without a wifi router of his own he had no reliable wifi network available at that site.

I'm assuming the connection from the controller to the fixtures is a 2.4Ghz CRMX or other proprietary direct one-to-many connection and not also dependent on a wifi network? (This is how I'm arriving at the conclusion his breakdown occurred between the iPad and the controller.)

Anyone proficient with this system and know the nature of the iPad to controller connection, and the subsequent control to fixture communication?

As I understand it...you do need a wifi network. BUT...that wifi network does NOT need a connection to the internet. So, you can bring a wifi router and setup a local network that everything can connect to.
