Steve, how's the weather?
I may have to revive Ford v Chevy ...

As said before, it's not needed, but it adds to a DJs skillset and something that stands out among the average mobile DJ.

That makes absolutely NO sense. Brides and grooms do not care about the dj's skillset. They don't want their DJ to standout. In fact, most want their dj to say and do as little as possible. This is NOT about us. It never us. It's only about the client.

If you have a dj scratching at a wedding, they are trying to show off or make it about them. That is my opinion.

they dont want corny activities... or an mc who wont shut up...or makes every moment somehow about them or promoting their company... they want music presented in an exciting

That is obvious. They also don't want the dj to attempt to be the center of attention. When a dj starts scratching, they want the event to be about them.

We say what we have to say at weddings and keep quiet the rest of the time. We NEVER say our company name. And yes, we push play ALL night long. Guess why we do that? Because that's what our clients want. I could not even imagine a wedding where the dj was up there scratching... I bet grandma would be putting her coat on. I could see the catering staff putting ear plugs in. I could also see the bride and her bridesmaids dancing and everyone else just looking on saying "what the hell is this".

Cater to your client... nothing else matters! And believe it or not, some brides WANT corny activities. What do YOU do if they want that? Refuse the job?

I thought we called it a tie, and I'm sure there are brides looking for the skills to make their reception into a club. Many of us just don't see the ask.

As they say, to each their own ..

Absolutely no corny activities from my company...

and you dont get hired for your "skills" because youve never shown them in any marketing... so they move on to someone with them....you have your lane... and i have mine... the difference is...i can drop to your level and phone it in with zero effort... you would need years to learn skill....
