But the AA unit is a mixer as well .. that Denon isn't.

Two lappies, two sound devices, and you mix on the software -- that's what it is designed for. Might just as well go back to vinyl or CDs...
Mixing on the laptop is fine as a backup .. To properly cue in stereo, you need to go out with both decks and mix externally. For me, I just like having the big buttons.

I just hit the Mix Next button with the mouse or keyboard, and all the work is done for me. I haven't cued in years, only when I was on vinyl, and early CD days. I don't even have a set of DJ phones -- don't need them, I know my music.
I'd pick up a Denon 4500, since they are hard coded into Rockit. You can pick one up used, for about the same price...
Or I can buy yours...!
