I just received an email about this product. Looks nice, and Numark seems to e tapping into the battery powered product scene first among DJ Controller manufacturers.

I don't ever use a DJ Controller when I am in situations where I need to run off of all battery power. Usually just a quick wedding ceremony in my case. However, I can see this being useful for a DJ who happens to throw a party on a beach, or at a state park, or perhaps in the woods where there isn't any power within 100 feet of the set up, and the DJ doesn't want to run a long extension cord. Having all battery powered equipment is cool in of itself in your set up. However, The NEED for this is just so small, I can't see a ton of these controllers being sold. Cool product to have just because though.

Nice.
But if they don't have power to run a controller....
how are they going to amplify the SOUND that comes out of it?

Yeah, I know...battery powered EVERYTHING.
Depending on the size of the event speakers like the Mackie Thump Go would work well. I use them for small community cookouts that one of my apartment clients throws every month during the summer. I actually have a fully battery powered system including uplights and wireless mics, iPad and Pioneer Rev-1 that I use for small gigs that have power limitations.

Although this device looks interesting, I feel like it has some shortcomings and unnecessary features. I think the Phillips Hue integration is a waste of time. My house is about 90% Phillips Hue and I have no desire to connect my DJ gear to it even when entertaining guests. I hate that this only has 4 hot cue pads and I think the price of $839 is a bit high for this controller.

What they are banking on is the streaming part of the controller and Amazon music for the DJ who streams their music. since it only says standalone, I’m assuming without a laptop. now whether they have $800, IDK.

I have been saying FOR YEARS that the lighting companies need to produce battery powered light effects and moving head lights so that we can eliminate the cords completely, and use them where ever we want to. I see that as having more demand than a battery powered DJ controller to be honest. However, battery powered everything would be pretty darn cool to have and use!

It would be sweet if the power happens to go out everywhere, the place is in the dark, but the DJ can keep playing with a full light show and sound because all of the DJ's equipment can run on battery power! The event can still go on! And the clients would be so appreciative that the DJ could provide that experience. 5 Star Review EASILY!

Glad some of you like the idea of a battery powered controller. Me I'll stay clear away because what if the battery dies and the event isn't over? Will you go to a backup battery powered controller?
