Weddings Nothin' but oldies for a wedding!

I'm really looking forward to a wedding that we've just booked for February. We've done 2 other weddings for this bride's older sisters and now it's her turn. She's in her mid 20's but wants nothing but 50's to 80's music for her wedding. Ahhhh...refreshing...something different for a change and not just the same ol' typical wedding music.

Refreshing?

All I play is usually 50s-80s music at weddings. The newere music usually kicks in the last hour or two, but the wedding standards are all 50s-80s.

It depends on the weddings...lately I've had alot that just want some 60's, Nostalgia and more currents.

50 to 80's? NICE. I believe oldies loosen people up and make them have more fun than ever thought possible. It makes them feel it's ok to act crazy and have a good time. If only they were all like this.

I had a cool wedding like that early last year - couple in mid 20's - the newest song I played all night was "Bust A Move" by Young MC! (1989 if you're counting...)

Floor was PACKED all night!

I too enjoy not having to worry about the billboard Hot 100
or the latest R&B, Hip-Hop, or whatever the genre of the week is!

Had a wedding last year that was ALL 80's!
even dinner music!
The bride and groom loved it, and I loved playing it!

Oddly enough... I have two weddings next month. They don't want any hip hop/rap at all. So I'm in the same boat.

Would anyone care to offer some recommendations on music to play?
