Dan:
I have been using the Cavs 203 for a few years now. It is slow to load, but I like the fact that you get around 1,000 songs with each disc. I have no problems with the 203 or the 105. Hoping to upgrade to the usb version in the near future.

Thanks Bill. I used it for the first time last night and like you said it is a little slow to load. I also had to restart a few songs because the lyrics didn't come up with the music. I love the DVD capability and I am really looking forward to getting some Super CDGs.

Dan: I have not had any problems with lyrics on factory disc. If you bought the cavs unit used, you might try a cd or dvd laser lense cleaner.

The things that I like about the 203 is the fact that you have about all of the controls on the machine and the built in reverb is pretty decent.

With the 105 unit, you pretty much have to use the remote control.

When I am doing a show with the karaoke, I do not use the mic connections on the front of the cavs unit, I use the connections on the mixer.

I also have a voco pro dual player, but for karaoke it has not held up near as well as the cavs units. Shortly after I purchased the voco pro, I lost the video on the left side player. I just wish that Cavs would come out with a dual player unit. If you have any questions give me a shout and I will do what I can to help you out.

Maybe some day my Friend Rick might develope a simply to use computer program for karaoke that is comparable to the RockIt Software!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's a NEO unit. These take Cavs hi-density discs. I have no experience with this particular model. As a matter of fact, I would like to ask YOU 3 questions:

Does it play standard discs as well?

How much do the NEO discs cost?

How do you feel about the Cavs song versions?

Joe:

The Cavs 205G unit has the controls on the front of the unit like the Neo Units.

The Cavs units do play cdg disc, regular cds and dvd karaoke discs and others (some photo discs)

I have read that one of the earlier Neo units did play Cavs disc but the Neo discs are a different technology then Cavs. The Neo Units also offer an on screen index.

On the super cdg disc I have Music Maestro, Nutech and Magic Tracks. The Magic Tracks discs are my favorite Super CDGs and they are very similiar to Sweet Georgia Brown. The best thing about the Magic Track Discs are that they contain over 1000 songs per disc. These discs retail for a little over $100.00 each but can be found on Ebay for $50.00 or less.

The Neo discs are currently listed on ebay from $20.00 for a 75 song disc up to $190.00 for a 3 discs set with 3702 songs from Klub Hits.
