Hey guys,

I've been working to come up with a fresh marketing plan for 2009. This will include a redesigned logo, and website along with matching T-shirts, business cards, and all local advertisements. These are the logo proofs I received from my graphic designer, and I wanted to know everyone's thoughts. None of the colors have been set yet, so don't vote based on the color, they are all generic. Just vote based on which design you like, and please give some detail as to why. (for my benefit!). Also, if you have any ideas for colors, please speak up, the colors of the logo will dictate the website, and thus the whole marketing scheme.

Edit: Heres what I told the graphic designer. I said I wanted a logo that I could use to be a cool, teen event appealing logo, but also a logo I could use in the wedding market.
Thanks!

#6 for me. Clean and easy on the eyes, although a different color scheme might work better?

Just my opinion.

Bah, I tried to rep ya.... because I 100% agree with ya... #6. But as always, my friend, I have spread too much love around today, and couldn't give you any special love. :sqerr::sqwink::sqlaugh:

Another one for #6

#1 for weddings. Although I don't like the way the "L" blends into the "South" block.

#2 or 3 for teens. I like the "SC" logo, that could be seperated from the actual name and act as a true logo, allowing you to develop an actual brand.

Now if I had to pick only one...
#5. You could take away the SC logo for a clean look (weddings) and add it back (but maybe to the right) for the hip look.

I would have your designer also create a seperate version of the round SC logo with the word Productions under it, either curved with the logo or simply straight.

#8 is my least favorite followed by 6, then 7 (none of them are "teen" to me, which seemed to be your primary market, which would make 6 lame...sorry guys).

believe it or not Blue is the color of power and success. I too like 6 and then 7 try amother color with the blue and you will find the right combo.

I like what Wayde said,,,, I don't see one that I like for all markets, so a combo, if you have to use one 6 might do it, but I don't think it's cool enough for teen events, but I guess it is okay.

The more I look at it the more I don't like #6 (and not just because everybody seems to like it). It's just too plain...for either market.

How about this Brian...take these choices and show them to your target clients. Get feedback from the people you want to attract.

I love the brandability of that circle SC logo...it's a true logo.

I agree with you on the #2 and #3 for teen events, I'm going to talk to the graphic designer and see if he can put the circle logo with productions under it and post it. My question is, then would the SC circle w/ productions under it be my set only logo, or would I incorporate one of the other logos in for wedding events? I like your idea with #5, adding and removing the "SC" logo, so I'm assuming I would need an "SC" Logo With and Without "productions" under it? I've toyed around with having a teen oriented web page and a wedding oriented web page, both accessible from my main site...these logos could come in very handy for that...thoughts?

Thanks Chuck, thats where I'm leaning. I like number 6 alot, but I'm not sure if It is easily able to include both the markets I'm shooting for.

Wayde, this is a great idea, I'm doing a wedding in 2 weeks, and I'm going to ask the event planner, and the B&G what they like best.

Thanks for the replies everybody, this truly helps ALOT! You guys are coming up with ideas and seeing things I never would have!

Most people misuse the word logo.
Your name, even a stylized version, is your identity.
Your logo, is your corporate mark. Easily recognizable as you, even without the name.

Even though they have a very specific style when you see the names McDonald's and Nike advertised, the big yellow M and the swish are their actual logos.

So you would use both. You would need to use both initially just to create the connection between the SC circle and your name. The goal is that eventually people would just know what the lone SC circle stood for.

Depending on the wedding clients you typically target, those markets may be fundamentally incompatible.

Use of the established Logo with different text for each market can aid in appealing to both.

#4 come closest to having the dual purpose.

#6 looks more formal and wedding-clientesque.

#'s 7 & 8 appear more youthful but not necessarily Teeny.

Good luck!

#5

I like the SC treatment. It would appeal to the young crowd without turning off the wedding crowd.

I think 'Productions' should be 'Entertainment'

I'm not too fond of 'South Charlotte' either. It seems to limit your market area.
