For anyone interested...Speakers are EV Eliminator cabs loaded with Peavey Black Widow subs. They have a narrow usable range but BOY do they hit. I roll em off at around 40hz. Then... JBL SRX-4725 mains (L/R on bottom) powered by a single IPR2 Peavey 5000 and the tops are brand new JBL PRX 712 1500w Active tops. One box is for Sound Control, the other is for Lighting control. DBX Driverack, Elation Operator Pro for Lighting. Also using a PadKontrol to trigger lights via MIDI.

Cool ... I have the previous version PRX (612m) and I use a smaller version of the SKB case (4RU front) with the laptop holder.

Looks like you were on a stage?
Yes, According to the title I was....lol...
This is the first time I've ever done this venue this way and it was perfect....Normally I roll in dually 15's and stack the SRX on top...but no more!

Great idea using the Korg controller for lighting!
Set-up looks nice.

Honestly in 12 years this is finally the nicest it has ever looked. I've always cared more about the music and MC skills that I really didn't pay attention to great lengths about looks. I was in the frame of mind that more is better.....Actually "better" gear is "more" when coupled with clean lines. Cabs in the pic are still a bit rough looking but when you are gigging 70+ times a year it takes a toll...

Only problem I've had doing things like this, is having a sub on the stage. At many venues, the stages are an afterthought and highly reverberant (bouncy/springy/etc.). Getting the subs onto hard floor helps, just keeping the tops up on the stage.

JT, sorry I haven't chimed in yet. This is a very nice-looking setup and I'm sure the kiddos were highly impressed. In addition to all the other comments all those speaker cabinets stacked in front gives you a nice degree of separation from the kids. Heck, just put a pad/pen on a table about 20 feet away for song requests and you're the hero DJ that "rocked our school dance out". Kudos to you, my man.

Yep, missed it in the title. Blonde moment. Good setup. I was aiming that if you were on a stage, you may not have needed stands anyways.

I'd say that setup would look even better with new speaker grills/screens.
Something more opaque so all speakers (except the tops) look the same, and look new.

Yes I agree totally. This stage is rock solid. So solid I think it's made out of rock.

Yes indeed. The pad/pen is down on the stairs in front.

No worries. I'm pretty much a bald blonde so I'm worse off than you. Cheers.

I have to agree. totally. I haven't done it in a while but I like to spray a bit of the Rustoleum Seal stuff they have out. I'm super careful not to over do it...but new grills would be great.
