Just saw this on FB. I'm guessing it's the "new hot thing" in cold sparks. Like some of you guys, I've been using cold spark fountains for 3 years. I run 4 units, which frame up the 1st dance. I'm always on the lookout for someone who might get over the top of the units. I'm wondering, on what planet does anybody think this is a good idea? You gonna just hand this to a guest/host and hope they don't shoot someone in the eyes? Yikes!

Yeah I’ve seen this and know someone who has this. It’s definitely not something I’d put in a guests hand. I look at it like a co2 gun in use. I’m not sure I’d consider investing in this anytime soon as I have 2 concerns:

- venues around here are already cracking down on regular sparklers with the need of permits and fire maddhall approval… so I can’t imagine they’d be ok with this

- it’s only 90 min battery life and that’s on standby. Seems like you’ll only get a few uses over a small period as opposed to having it be accessible for use from the beginning too the end of the night. In areas where all dancing is at the end after dinner this may not be as big of a problem, but here where dancing starts early it can affect its availability.

I agree with you guys.
Besides, I think the stationary cold spark fountains LOOK better in action.
And unlike the Co2 guns, you don't want the sparks to be "sprayed" all over the place.
Too easy to shoot someone in the face.
And then there's the venue/fire marshal/insurance issue.
