70-200mm f/2.8 IS. Shot was f/5.6 @ 145mm, obviously focused on the eyes, but I was using a Canon 12mm extension tube for close focusing, thus the narrow DOF.

Wow. That piece of glass is simply amazing. I never would've thought to use it for a tight shot like that. The bokeh is gorgeous.

Thanks! Honestly, I probably should have opt'd for the f/4 version - as good as the f/2.8 is, it's BIG and HEAVY!!

But the 2.8 is such an amazing lens. I LOVE it! Something about those white Canon lenses.....
As to the big and heavy...I once pumped the hand car around Prairie Village (you know the little flatbed cart you hand pump down the train tracks) with Ben Stowe and a couple others with my 5D around my neck....all 15 lbs of it! I don't recommend that. But otherwise the experience was pretty cool.

I know some people on here will be like geez you don't know this. I have bought SD cards. I never heard of CF for a camera. What is that?

CF Is a Compact Flash card...it's used in lieu of an SD card. They tend to be more reliable and faster to write information, so are a feature on higher end cameras typically.

Carolyn (my wife), totes that 70-200mm around, along with a 2nd camera, usually for about 4 hours. Once we get to the reception, she usually ditches it and yes, that lens will take its toll on you after a while and that 5d is significantly heavier than out 6ds are. Not sure if you ever have back issues but we bought a hip holster rig that seems to alleviate that.

BTW, I just came back from a cruise on Allure Of The Seas. ALL the on-board ship photographer's DSLR's are hardwired to smartphones, which are tethered to the ship's on-board WiFi. They take your picture, review it, and if it's good, it's sent (via WiFi) to be printed in the ships lab.
