This service edits out ALL objectionable lyrics. Other services often add a footnote that a tune contains lyrics with parental advisory recommendations. Prime Cuts has never presented me music requiring such advisories.
Thats great if one is only doing Weddings/Family Events.
Clubs and other Events want the unedited versions. Fortunately, I have an arrangement where I get to listen to a song, rate and submit it, then in return I get to download it for free. I usually get the Download in several versions. Radio, Dirty, Acapella, Instrumental.

Are you talking about digiwax? I used to do that for them, that's why I am asking. I found that it was always too hard to find stuff that I really needed that spanned genres, they were 99% hip-hop.
That's why I always recommend the pool I use to everyone from Mobile DJ's to Club DJ's and even Remixers... they get their music straight from the album companies, and will get whatever versions are on the single (remixes, clean, dirty, instrumental, etc), and you don't have to worry about a company spoon feeding you what tracks they are sending out, you can search for just about anything ever made and download it on demand.
I <3 idjpool.com :)

After nearly 4 decades in this business, I sincerely couldn't give a single reason to play any song that isn't played on the radio at one time or another. There is such an incredible amount of great music available to us that stimulates the audience to dance and sing, I find no benefit to playing filthy lyric laced tunes. And I have played all the major clubs in my area throughout my career, as well as wedding and family oriented events. Elegance, Class, and Distinction! Just my opinion.

As I stated I get several versions of the same song. However, I do a lot of Hip Hop Productions, my own as well as rentals to other DJs. The people that come out to those events do not want to hear what is on the Radio. They want local, regional and unedited stuff. If there is money there, you might find me close behind! :triwink:

I have been DJing just over 20 years, and I can think of a million reasons to play non-radio songs. Almost all the clubs I have ever played at were straight hip-hop only, and mostly the word "Urban" is not fitting to describe the music. Like AHoustonDJ said, they don't WANT to hear radio songs. I also play a TON of Old School hip-hop, and for some... you just can't hear the real song unless it's unedited. Heck, some of the songs didn't even HAVE radio versions! I can't play a clean version of "Hit Em Up" by Tupac at a party or club without fearing for my life. I'm just sayin, not everything is radio-friendly. If it was, they wouldn't have a need to make "Radio Edit" songs.

Cool dude. that is amazing i just signed up for the $12 a month one for all the bilboard top 100. looks really promising. :)

'welcome :)
Dave, the guy that runs it, is a good dude and he will usually listen to anything you have to say, or any problems you have (which I doubt there will be any). I also LOVE that it is FTP and I can just click, queue, and forget about it. I do a lot of my downloading while I am sleeping lol

I understand. Ethics are fast becoming a thing of the past.

that's the trouble WES, today there is no ethics for these young Djs...
they think once its online they can steal what they like and don't think of the Ethics

I wouldn't employ over 3/4 of these young pups

they would have to show me 150% that they do things legal before they even got a job from me

they don't like then its their problem....

have a nice day
