Well, the 5 ipads in my house have never crashed...... that is a big bonus. And less chance of getting viruses.

There's a reason that 'new' tablet cost 200 bucks. see Rule #1. In addition, there's no reason to get new if the older one can do everything you need it to do.
For those that have forgotten the rules:

Give it a few years and I bet you see more Surface tablets in the trash than iPads.
I'm not saying Apple is better .. just making some observations. I have not used a Surface .. and really have no desire to. My iPad does everything I need it to do and I've had no problems with it. YMMV.
I do not own a Surface I own a dell, look at my OP in this thread. My tablet is $300 and was on sale for Christmas. Don't be fooled by price they have done teardowns of popular tablets and the Apples, Samsungs, Microsofts and other big players have the same quality products inside and are built to the same standards. I am not an American so I do not have to live the " buy USA lifestyle " I buy what works for me. Remember for years 80% of an iAnything was actually Samung from the screen to the chips that makes it work, and that most Asian products are actually made in Asia unlike Apple products (not made in the USA). I understand your desire to buy US but a majority of your tech companies build their stuff overseas to save a buck and hide from the taxman. Remember there is choice in the world and that not only Apple innovates or build fine products. I own an iPod and a iPad, the iPod only gets used as an alarm clock now and the iPad was used to act as a controller for VDJ not it does not get used for that function anymore since I can now put VDJ in my dell.
Z, I agree with you that price doesn't always play into it. 99% of the time though, it does. Same here, I buy what works for me. I said it before and I'll say it again. I like them both (Apple and MS). Having said that, I've had an iPad for a good bit. There's no reason for me to get something new if I don't need it. My iPad does everything I need it to do perfectly fine.
FWIW, I have no specific 'desire to buy US' and I am ok with buying something not made in America (if thats what I want / need). Most of our stuff isn't made here anymore anyways. Like most things here, I think Apple's products are designed in the US, but made elsewhere. I don't buy Apple because it's 'American' - I buy it because it works.
Most American cars / trucks are not made in America.

I've used the DJay/DJay2 app on my iPad for several ceremonies. Nothing beats it for simplicity of playback.
That being said, I always struggle to get music and playlists onto my iPad. I really can't stand how Apple forces you to use their convoluted iTunes music management system to load music. It would be SO much easier if I could just drag and drop music on a file folder on the iPad. SO much easier.

I agree Troy, there could be an easier way. FWIW, I drag and drop all day long - through iTunes. If I recall, Zune forces you to use special software too.
Yes through a third part software... But alas Apple usually blocks these programs with updates, forcing you to use itunes.
Through iTunes, you can drag and drop directly to the device. You do not have to Sync playlists or anything.
Z's on a roll lately attacking Apple. Why all the hate? Again, Apple is not the ONLY one forcing you to use a specific product to add media to their devices. MS forces you to use special software on a Zune - why no attack on MS? Is it because you don't have / have not used a Zune? You can't modify a Droid without hacking it - why no attack on Google?
I'm trying to understand your continued bash against Apple .. while excluding the other players that are doing the very same things.

Speaking of Ceremony systems, has anyone tried the Behringer PMP550m? 4-channels, graphic eq, 250-watts per channel, digital effects, feedback exterminator, only 12 pounds and $199 on the price. I'm sorely tempted to get one of these for my ceremony rig this coming weekend.
