Hi All!

I just had to retire my stanton mixer which did me well!

I finally decided on a new mixer but here is my dilemma.

I picked the numark iCDMIX3, which looks like it would suit my needs very well. This has the XLR hook up for the speakers, which was much needed in my last mixer.

Someone pointed out the Numark MIXTRACK PRO to me and I love it! It is compatible with my Virtual DJ sofware and it has a built in sound card (so I can get rid of the 2 external ones) but it has no XLR.

Is there such an animal that has XLR hookups, built in sound card and compatible with Virtual DJ?

I would really appreciate any help!

Dont let the name get to you this is a great VDJ compatible 4 deck controller...

How much do you want to spend?
What speakers are you using?
Do you want an all in one controller?
Or do you want separates CD/Controller/Mixer?

Ok this is going to be very crude and I don't know how the Line Ins on the iCDMIX3 are labled but you should get the basic idea....

In this setup you'd use the Mixtrack to control the software including crossfading and the crossfader on the iCDMIX3 would be used just for the CD decks.

I'll be honest with you... unless you need the CD decks that the iCDMIX3 gives you.... I'd get rid of it and just use a basic live sound mixer and two channels instead of a DJ style mixer which you already get with the MixTrack Pro on down the road you'll probably view the MixTrack Pro as basically a toy... I know I did after using a Numark Total Control... the MixTrack's predicessor.
 
I bet you spent nearly?$500 between the two devices. Did you know for just a little more there's an all in one from denon that incorporates the software controller and DJ mixer in one... I believe is streets for $699 or so. Im on my cell so I can't look it up at the moment but it solves everything except for having CD decks.
 
He's talking about the Denon DN MC 6000. If you run VDJ, it's what you want. It's self-powered (not usb powered) and the dedicated mixer section can be used for other gear like cd players. So if your laptop craps out during a gig, you're not dead in the water. Also, it's midi capable, so you can midi map all the buttons, knobs, slider and faders. If you add video to your show, you can control the fade of the audio and video in VDJ with the crossfader. Numark units tend (and I've owned many over the years) not to give value in the long haul.
