I played that like twice at weddings. It didn't go over well -- sounds like a sad song. On the first gig, it was my apartment complex maintenance dude. He wanted me to mix it with the instrumental version up front. So I did so.
They did the first dance to it -- but the crowd was not into it. It seemed to slow things to a crawl.
Here's the funny part:
The chick lived like like 3 doors away from me, and was always coming on to me. After the vows, first dance, et. al -- she comes and hits on me again, and wants to go to the coat room.
I sh_t you not. This is one of the reasons I do not have a wife or gal pal anymore.
I guess its all in how you do it then, for me It packs the floor everytime. If the Bride & Groom are on the floor I dedicate to them. And tell them to look around at all of there family and friends and remember this night for the rest of there lives. And that these will be the memories they have for the rest of there lives, young and old.
Do you actually take this seriously?
It's just a job -- like working at Mickeys Ds.
I worked there for a while -- did the breakfast and lunch thing. That was all sort of fun
Now, when you go down to central America, and get shot in the stomach by an AK -- we'll share some memories.
Yeppers, I have had a "Job" for most of my life. This is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. So yeppers very serious but always with a light heart. And no central america for me its just as easy to get shot or stabbed at home, quicker to the hospital though. Here is a list of some of our most famous. I knew Chandra when I worked in DC -- she was the sister (or half sister) of one of our SS agents, who guarded our boss, currently governor of the state of NY.
A lot of weird sh_t happens down there -- that's why I won't go back.
