My retirement party is tonight and I don't feel like being there.

On April 20th we have a reunion party to do in Brooklyn near Coney Island at a very fancy restaurant. It's going to be from 1pm to 5pm. The cost for people to attend this reunion is $90.00 per person I was told. My partners girl friend is a part of this reunion for the school she went to. They got us to do it because they know that she lives with my partner that is a DJ. The pay is $600.00 just for those people on here that want to know. No our company has nothing to do with this reunion other then we're being booked to play music at this event.

I understand the cost of $90.00 includes the food, open bar for the 4 hours and us DJing. I guess for that price they will include top shelf for the open bar. I just posted this to show that such things do exist in the world. It's just like for example a school dance where students are asked to pay an admission fee to come to the dance. Just remember this is not us organizing this event. One of my partners girl friend friends is organizing this event. I understand a lot of big corporate example she went to school with will be there. I was told people that very easily can afford to come to this event. I heard some are coming as far away as California.

Mix, a class reunion is not like a retirement party.

Everyone understands that they will need to pay to go to a class reunion. If it were a family reunion, different story.

Everyone understands that they will need ot pay to go to a school dance. I do all the dances for a private school that does not charge students an admission fees for the dances, the students have fund raisers to cover the cost of the dances. At the end of the year if there is any money left over the school opens a savings account for that years class so they have a head start for the class reunion.

School dances and class reunions are a public (open to all those that go/went to that school in that year) event. A retirement party is a private (by invitation only) event.

oh for f**k sake, forget it.

Why do we even try help this piece??

Sorry DJCC but here a retirement party is not by invitation only. They would post such things on the board in the main office of a school and whoever wanted attend could attend. Normally you would go because you know the person that the retirement is for.

Appears to be a contradiction there Mix. The "partner's" girlfriend, always seems to be involved in all these "gigs", yet you aren't...?

Are you the puppy, that follows around the con men (and in this case woman too)?


People have been trying to help you here -- but I suspect you will end up in jail for doing the kind of cons you all are doing...

What are you talking about? She just so happened to go to this school and one of the people she went to school with is organizing this event. It's just that simple. So we lucked on the gig with him being a DJ and the organizer knows this. I guess she made it her business to let the organizer know this.

This is going to be a great gig and should lead to other gigs in turn.
 
Mix you have still not answered the questions I asked. Have you paid your Business taxes for last year yet. Also are you buying legal music yet.

i think you need to realize, that many of us here work in some form or another for the gov't. It only takes one phone call to have your taxes audited, your disability claim audited, along with your partners.

If you want to play those games, that's yer business -- but beware...

I don't think it's totally unreasonable for a group of workers to ask fellow workers who want to attend a retirement party to chip in. I've never attended a party like that, but I could see it happening.

Glad you had a good time. But Mix, were those truly the best pictures you had? Why did you post blurry pictures?

no, I'd call the police. But I wouldn't continue to call the police everyday to report the same crime.:)

If someone has done something to endanger others, call the police.

I'm not seeing how Mix's rantings about his many retirement parties is putting anyone in danger. In danger of being bored to death, maybe:)
