Here is my home built 4 way bi amp able speakers that I use for small gigs and most weddings.
I do run them with subs when I need maximum spl.
You are all saying 4 way but only see three speakers in each box how is this possible? Also some of you may be asking why the woofer is on top. Well both questions can be answered with one word coaxial. The Selenium driver is a coax 15” driver with a compression driver built into it that uses the woofer area as a horn. The bottom 12” Cerwin Vega driver is in its own sub enclosure so the back waves of the Selenium don’t interfere with it, this is my midrange driver. The bullet handles all the very top frequencies. Most of the time I run this full range but the woofer on the Selenium can be run by itself thus making the speaker bi-amp able. And yes it’s a ported design the ports are in the rear. They go down quite deep and are very efficient and they can put out about 135db peak.

Im sure it is a very technically solid design but the blues and the reds and the brown seem too loud for my taste especially for weddings. I would have painted or carpeted them one color. Can you imagine anyone bringing in a BFM Tuba subwoofer unpainted, just bare wood to a wedding. I cant. But hey, if it works for you, thats all that matters!

What's the weght of these speakers? I'm curious!!!
Don't know exactly but I lift them onto a table myself. The great thing they are tall so they do not need to be to high off the floor for them to work well. As for the colour I have black and white removable fabric grills so the can blend into any decor. On a raised gym stage is where they sound their best.

Any way of knowing what the midrange frequency range is on those babies?
When I built these speakers my goal was to have smoothe mids and higs. Most PA speakers sound to throaty and mid foward I wanted a more balanced sound. I get some keyboardist that play at some of my weddings and they plug in to my system and the guest are looking around for the baby grand or the full sized organ. That is why I decided on a four way, so no one speaker have to be pushed to their limit. A three way would have done but I wanted that extra high end that the compression horn does not do. I do a lot of weddings and play a lot of jazz and standards and I like the twinkling higs that are not a strain on the ears.

Zinc, you have lost me here. Is this a three way or four way speaker shown here? It looks like at most a three way, since there are three speakers.

I was really asking about the mid-range for VOCALS. Karaoke?

Good midrange is good midrange, the vocals are netural with non of the foward cupy suound most pa speakers produce. The only disadvantage to these speakers is that they are too revealing, bad encoded mp3's or crappy engeenered recordings sound bad, but in a normal gig setting you do not notice and the crowd could care less, it is usually me jus saying this just does not sound right.

It looks like you put a lot of thoughts into making them. My only suggestion would be to either put carpet on them or some type of coating to make them look better, specially if you use them at weddings. I did see the note about the colored grills, but the box in itself will look a lot better with the carpet or coating.

There is a coating on them but it's not black I will upload a pic from the side. Better yet at my next formal I will take a picture of them blending in.
