Marketing ala eBay?

I like it its the age.............. sort of like those who said umm this internet thing ya think putting a website will really connect with Brides???? In ten yrs we will look back at this and say gee how archaic of a marketing method. I didnt see Goodknight as the seller it figures he does alot of unique marketing tricks and hes apparently too busy to post as of late I guess what he does is working.

$600!!!! Hummm... I like the idea, would be nice to hear what happens....

I didn't notice anything in his feedback that would allude that it has worked in the past. We also don't know when he started offering this on ebay.

Here's what I think.....Just having all those keywords floating around for google to catch on to may be the key.
Ebay comes up huge for just about everything else....

I miss goodknight I say we all go to his website and email him a merry christmas and ask him to bring his innovative self back and post a bit more. What do you say gang?

I sent him an email. No reply yet? Did something happen that made him leave here?

well I didnt think so he was in a heated discussion with an other but I thought it got past the badgering stage. With him okay and posting on other subjects I'm hoping its more the fact he has been busy and spending the holidays with family than our motley crue selves.

I tried the eBay thing a few years back. Didn't work for me; however, I still had dreadlocks at the time and just some cheesy picture of me, standing behind my booth at home, holding a bunch of cool LPs in my hands.

*Sigh*

You had dreadlocks? :sqeek: You gotta post a picture of that! :sqcool:

If you do, I'll try to find an old pic of me with my "poodle-perm" from the late 70's (or one of those decades from the past) and post that!

.

I have listed an ad on ebay for a wedding package. So far 16 people have looked at it. I havent had any bids as of yet. I will let you know how it works.

I have listed my website on the ad and have received some hits on my website since then. Could be coincidence, but I dont usually get 15 hits in just one day.

I thought about doing this a few years ago (when I was desperate to find more weddings). I had considered making the auction for the deposit, so that you could still customize your price and options to their needs.

Could be a good way to market, someone on browsing on eBay could run across you and book you for a party/wedding (whether they bid or not). Just put your phone # in the auction. But I would avoid trying to market to price shoppers. Kind of lowers the perceived value of DJ's when someone is saying you can get the best DJ, equipment, lighting there is...all for $600.

the ONE thing you can learn from E-bay........is the FEEDBACK aspect.

Customer Feedback is the best attribute of the E-Bay marketing approach.

By examining a Seller's numerical score, you can very quickly determine how reputable they are!

I've used the same approach in relying on my CitySearch page, with its 25+ reviews and my "9.2" customer score.....which gives brides immediate knowledge of our reputability.

In a few short years, the "E-Bay" system of Customer Feedback will be the dominant way to verify the sellers' authenticity online.

With an increasing amount of online frauds being perpretrated today, I highly recommend using at least ONE online review site (Yelp, CitySearch, Yahoo Local, or Insider Pages) to bolster your online reputation.

Great Idea !,
why wonder if it works, why not try it ourselves,
yes it would be copying, but not all of us are in the same area, right? I'm going to try it too, Tom deserves all the credit though. He is an "Insider" for those of you who know what I mean. He knows what I'm talking about. We share these marketing tips.
All the best Tom if youre out there! Visit us here soon!
