So much for the wisdom of outsourcing. Actually, with the weak dollar it's becoming more profit-friendly to make components here Stateside.

Without stamping and molding facilities they're dead in the water. It's iffy that LT will be able to make up for their supply issue in time to remain solvent.

This is where Manufacturers that kept all or most of their production in the U.S. are going to have a much greater advantage over the next few years! Companies like Peavey, Carvin are going to take a huge chunk of American sound needs. A few of the others kept some production facilities in the U.S. but many of their componets are made overseas, while many of the others are simply going to collapse.

Don't forget EV and Community loudspeakers. Much of their products, even sub-assemblies are still made right here in the good ol' USA.

I didn't even know Community was still in production, but yes I did leave EV off the list by accident.

Community's home base, I believe is right here in PA...

Always have a big showing at the DJ Times Expo - guess it's a local show for them...LOL.

Thanks for the post Ben.

Yep, right there in beautiful Chester (LOL). I've been there. They make the most out of every square inch of space, that's for sure.

Yep, and I know a distributor. Lives near me.

I have a pair of 15" Community two ways that have worked flawlessly for nearly 15 years. I believe the model # was CSX-35S or something like that.

I retired them earlier this year when i purchased two Mackie SRM 450's.

I really think that the Community Speaker is a good product. I switched to Mackie for the Active benefits. The Mackie works well for me and I have no complaints. I give both Mackie and Community the thumbs up when it comes to
good sounding Mobile performance.

Ben had a model of community speakers that he really enjoyed installing. He was telling me some cool features about it, another horn built into it, if I remember correctly, it was something odd to me. I won't say they sounded bad, from what I could tell the sounded pretty good... it was in a bowling center and couldn't give an accurate comparison.
