The battery in my old Transport 12 finally bit the dust and from what I see it's more complications and expense to replace it than to buy something new and better so here I am looking at some gear

If you were buying new battery powered speakers and a battery powered mixer what would you choose?

Right now I am thinking of the Everse 8 for a lot of reasons but I really like the weight. In reality I only need one though likely I would buy 2

As for a battery powered mixer I was thinking the Mackie Pro10FXGO simply because I haven't found anything smaller that I deem reliable yet. I've had good luck with Mackie Mixers in the past

Money is always a consideration but not the top one. I need at least adequate quality sound reliability and as light as possible. As of right now I will be doing 11 off site ceremonies next year most I can pull up to a couple require a 500 or so foot walk

All suggestions are welcomed

Wanted to chime in on battery powered speakers. I've had the Bose S1, still own the Everse8 and now own the QSC CB10. The Everse is miles better than the Bose and the CB10 is miles better than the Everse8. The Everse12 is too bulky and sounds like sh!t. Just my opinion. If it were me, I'd go for the CB10, hands down. While it has a mixer app (like the Everse), it also has an actual knob for each channel. For a ceremony, I want simple, simple. The QSC is superior in my opinion. It's much louder than either of the Everse speakers.

I love my CB10. It is heavier than the Everse 8 but it outperforms my old 15" main speakers. I use it more than any other speaker in my inventory now. I will probably buy another one once I make space to store it. If I were QSC, I would release an 8 inch version. Heck, I would also like to see a 10" version of the KC12. It will be interesting to see if they announce something at the next NAMM show (January).

The one downside of the CB10 is the case. QSC sells a cover that can stay on the speaker while it is in use. This has utility in some situations, but it is not a carry case. I bought a K10 case to use but it is oversized for the CB10. I use the extra room for cables and mics but I would prefer a custom fit carry case.

I am using the CB10 at my daughter's wedding this weekend. I was originally going to use a pair of EV ZX1 (passive) but the needed coverage area is small (85 ppl). One speaker should be plenty. Quick setup and tear down will be important. My buddy (also a DJ) will be DJing the ceremony and reception using my PA gear. My 15s and a K-sub will cover the dance floor.

I'm sure I'm not shocking anyone, but I use S1 pro+'s. 😁
Size and portability is great. Built in wireless receivers and slot to charge and hold the transmitters makes it very convenient for mics or wireless satellite speaker. Battery time is great.
Uses the same app as my pro32's and pro16's

If I need battery power for anything more, I use my ecoflow battery packs.

I was hoping to go fully wireless for the ceremony but my buddy is more comfortable using his controller than a tablet. I will bring an Ecoflow for his controller. I usually only break it out for camping.
I bring my ecoflows to every event. Love having a back up option. Have a few bigger ones and also Have a few small ones that are perfect for needing extra things like mixers, extra mics, etc . River 3's. I think they are about 7 lbs. 268kwh. Bought them on ebay for $115 each.
Also use them to keep phones and tablets charged.

Also use these down at the property. The cabin has power from solar, but few campers and tents for guests and these come in handy.

Everse 8 here. I also have the JBL EON 1 .. but I like the Everse 8 better. I've also used the Bose S1+ Pro's. IMO, you can't go wrong with any of these, but I like the Everse 8 the best, followed closely by the S1 Pro's.

If best bass production and volume/throw is a top concern then the QSC CB10 is a likely winner. It loses on compactness, and portability. it won't be a great option if you are carrying it far to outdoor areas in the grass for example. Yesterday I carried both of my S1 Pros about 230-250 yards back to my car from a grass spot where the ceremony took place along with my mixer bag. I had to walk two trips back and fourth and still left my table there and speaker stands bag there, and just got those two items on my way out before I left at the end of the night. I would have had to leave my speaker there if I had the CB 10, and hope it didn't rain while it sat there for 6.5 hours.

If small size/portability is a top concern then the Bose S1 Pro+ is basically your best option. Also, I can't speak to blue tooth range on the CB10, but it is very good on Bose S1 pros for me at over 90 feet straight line.

Everse 8 is widely a top speaker among DJs, but it seems the CB10 out performs it now. Only advantage it has is you can buy accessories like a top mount tray to mount onto it, and I believe it has a charging USB port which other speakers now come with as well. Everse 8 does only weigh 16.8 lbs which is pretty light, only 2 lns more than S1 pro, but about 10 lbs less than the QSC CB10.

If Lowest price is a top concern, then I would recommend the Rockville Titan One Pro. This sounds very good for a $220 speaker. Blue tooth range is just so so at 40 ft, but bass is better than the Bose S1s. It sounds more refined and flat at loud volumes...it doesn't scream like the S1s do. Cost is only $219.95 in USA (This was shipped to me from a warehouse in Canada when I ordered). Weighs about 5 lbs more than the S1 does.

Here is a new option: BLAST KING just came out with a new 10" battery powered speaker. They made a 10" woofer with column array in the speaker. It is basically like the BOSE S1 PRO, but with a 10" woofer. They claim it is 400 watts and 123 DB. This is essentially what I was hopeful for BOSE to come out with as a S2 pro. I figured they would make a S1 Pro but with a 10" woofer inside. It looks like Blast King beat them to the punch!

I have a power strip that you can plug up 24 things and 5 USB ports that I keep my phone charged up. I have not had an issue since I bought it.

I am very skeptical of a brand with almost no market presence, and all the products look like relabeled Chinese crap. Every speaker is a set of compromises, but the ones made for this product are not ones I would make.

Why get a battery powered speaker when you could just get something like a Jackery or other portable power station and run any part or all of your existing gear under a wider variety of circumstances?

Unlike a speaker with built in battery - the Power center is available to make ANYTHING available for use - such as lighting, tools, or a source of AC power during a power outage.

This would be a far better use of money than heavy speakers with a built in battery.

One of my customers makes a name brand electric training collars for dogs. I visited the Chinese manufacturing plant were we send the collars and they make and add the electronic parts, assemble and package. The American company has strict quality controls and many parts get rejected. They also are strict about where the parts come from. They have a staff of quality control people who work for the American company, not the manufacturer.

What do they do with the rejected parts? They use them to make a cheap knock off of the name brand version, along with cheaper parts the manufacturer gets knocked off somewhere close. Looks similar. Sometimes offer better "specs". but isn't close to quality in real world use.

So cheaper parts, little to no quality control. But cheaper price.

I prefer both. I have small light battery powered speakers for ceremony and cocktail hours.

I have ecoflow battery packs for other and bigger needs.

For the small speakers, the battery added about $100 to the cost, as it was a choice when they first came out. Well worth it to have a built in battery option. The battery added about a pound of weight. So the whole thing weighs 14lbs.
Everyone got the battery, so it's no longer even an option

I have 3 everse 8's. I LOVE those things... cocktail hour, ceremony's, fill speakers for wide rooms, or unique layouts, and as a monitor for when I dj. I love it, as well as the app control.

However, if I want more powerful, specifically for massive ceremonies of 400 people, or fills for rooms that hold 400... I'm not going to rely on little speakers for that. Like pro said, that's when I get more capable speakers like my rcf nx910, pop it anywhere I want on a gravity stand, and add a battery backup below it (like jackery), of whcih I bring two with me to every event.
