Yes, that is a mono unit..

it is normally patched into the channel that the mic is on,

Or routed to a sub-group on a live sound mixer.

You wouldn't want to add reverb to your whole mix, just on the vocal channel's
or on drums

Generally for straight DJ work a reverb unit is pretty much useless unless you want to use delay, pitch shift, or some other wild effect on your vocals. You really don't want to use it on the music unless you are doing some funky remix or a wicked techno mix!

It is pretty much nothing more than extra weight and a space filler in a DJ rig.

A must for live sound or karaoke though.

So as Precisionpower said, what do you want from it?

I have always used a reverb in my rig. Used sparingly, it gives a kind of ambiance to a room, kind of a spatial effect. Of course for vocals/announcements it does great. Remember i do not run traditional two way speakers. I use an electronic three way crossover. The money I charge is well worth the extra weight and effort.
Many times that i have played alongside bands at certain venues there was hardly any difference with sound and power. As a matter of fact, i have had many an event person send home the band early and kept me playing. I don't like to sound just like "any other DJ".

Some thoughts on vocal effects...

If you're using compression in the processing chain, vocal effects like echo and flanging can be muddied up by compression. Get it adjusted to your liking before trying it at the shows.

Our mixer has the effects engine built in. It's assignable to all channels but we only use it for the mic channels. It sounds great through the headphones but the C/L muddied it. I made some adjustments and got it cleaned up. The ticket to effects is to use them sparingly. :)
