If the Live X simply are to replace the Force and Eliminator series with one decent quality entry level product line then that's what they are. A consolidation of SKUs. The Force and Eliminator speakers were both good for their price point.
You just have to keep perspective. Each product line addresses a certain price and performance bracket.
If you want good, light weight, middle of the road but reliable and durable speakers you go to the SX or ZX. If you don't want to pay that much or don't like plastic then the Live-X is a good choice. If you need more performance and can spend more and want a wood cabinet then Tour-X or QRX is what you want.
Live-X is what it is. It's not top of the line-it's quality, affordable, entry level gear. EV's entry level is like some other companies' top line stuff or better. If you're clipping all the time then you need a more powerful speaker or more speakers or a more powerful amp if they're passive. Pushing speakers too hard is just going to create distortion and shorten the life of your speakers. Better to have the right tool for the job . . .
