Some may wonder why I post these articles, well here is my answer. I am a fan of Live Sound, just as how some DJs pattern themselves after what other DJs use, I like to follow along in the footsteps of what the big boys use, except on a much smaller scale. It is no secret that I am also partial to Arrays, I like the sound of the spread way above people's heads. You can clearly hear the music in the space above and feel the thump of the bass below. It really makes your sound different.

Question for you ---- what is the advantage of a drum riser, if any?
Drum Risers are used to isolate the vibrations from the drummer to the floor. You may notice that most drummers carry a piece of carpet with them and that is usually put under the Drum Set for the same reason. However, with a Drum Riser, it elevates the Drummer and gives him a sort of Stage so it serves two purposes. There may be some musicians here who can correct me if I am wrong or add to the explanation.
