@Dan The Man signed up and became member #1 at Our DJ Talk :) I showed up in September and was member 47

The first few months were quiet but momentum came quick. By the end of the first year we were the busiest DJ forum on the internet

One Mod at Chat called us "The island of broken toys" now I like to refer to us as "The last one standing :0

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ODJT :)

The forums really helped elevate the industry 25+ years ago. They drove traffic to conventions and membership to associations. I developed many great relationships. Lots of factors have led to their fall from popularity. I am happy that this forum still exists. I prefer this format over newer social media platforms. I sometimes wonder what we could do to attract more activity.

Time Flies! This is the only forum I am a part of. Well, I had a stint on Reddit a couple years ago, and I occasionally browse on there, but don't really post anything on there any more. That wasn't really DJ related stuff though.

I am finding myself less and less on face book, as it's been losing it's luster to me the last few years. I only go on there to watch Reels for the most part when I'm bored.

You weren't long after me your number is 115 I believe you were a mod at Chat then

The forums changed the business or at least the way a lot of us did business really and yes a lot of friendships were blossomed here on the boards

I think our old friend Softjock Rick said it best this place is like a bar we come in shoot the shit and sometimes even talk about DJ stuff :)

These boards helped me tremendously. I’ll always be grateful. Worth putting up with some of the goofballs. Some of them were entertaining too😁

Let’s all have a beer…or a soft drink if that’s your thing, to ODJT!

Also remembering guys like Jon, Chuck, Rick, and Steve, to name a few.

I remember being asked to join here when it was formed. I joined out of curiosity but kept loyal to Chat and rarely posted. My loyalty was due to a series of connections and opportunities made by Sid and the Chat community that led to huge changes in my life such as switching industries and moving into sales. Someday I will outline that path. There were so many people involved but Sid and Bernie played big parts as well as others I met on Chat.
