I received an email this morning from Promo Only stating DJs should NOT upgrade to Catalina for 2 reasons .. one, PO needs Adobe Air for their Pool service and there is an issue with the current release. And 2, apparently Apple took out the ability for iTunes to share it's XML files with other apps which will prevennt those that use it to manage music from having it being read in Serato/Traktor/VDJ/etc.
Letter:
The recent major macOS release: macOS Catalina is not currently compatible with Adobe AIR which is required to run POOL. We anticipate Adobe to release an update of AIR soon, but it is currently incompatible. We suggest you hold off on updating to macOS Catalina until Adobe releases a compatibility update.
Apple has issued a statement recommending DJs not update to macOS Catalina, because unlike macOS Sierra, High Sierra, and Mojave, Catalina has done away with the ability to share your iTunes Library XML with other applications.
You can read the full statement here.
Thank you,
