DjSVO who cares who sings the song of Hooked on a Feeling

as long as your peeps like it and dance to it

there are many people that do covers and at times the covers are far better than the ORIGINAL

so dont like it why did you post it

now have the video to the song - thanks for that

have a nice day

The Hasselhoff version of Hooked on a Feeling, video posted above sounds pretty good to me , it adds a bit more rhythm & percussion compared to the sluggish original 70s version by Blue Suede which i always played faster.

Correction....The song was originally recorded around 1968 by B.J. Thomas. Quite often, I'll throw this version in during dinner or cocktails.

Carry on

Good job Kirby most of these young whippersnappers think the song pitbull recently released with Belafonte dubbed in is a new song.

Ah yes i know this version too. But hey you gotta have the "Hooka chooka" chant to make the song really work for the dancefloor ...But i guess ok to play the B.J.Thomas version as a background track...

The song was brought back to life in the movie "Reservoir Dogs" a few years back .Hence it became popular again.. It featured the Blue Suede version.

Blue Swede version much like the Beatles Twist and Shout and the Animal House version of Shout or Jump On It Sir Mix Alot. Majority of folks will recognize these versions over the originals and often they have a better backing percussion offering to enhance longevity.

about Barry I suppose he will continue much the same as many have over the yrs continuing to sell tickets even while fading. Glen Cambell was just here in Toronto last night suffering through Alzheimers which is forcing his retirement after this tour but if it werent he would likely still sell enough tickets to continue touring. Granted some should have stopped long ago like Mike Tyson but if the general public still pays to see them the career aint over cause the fat lady aint singin just yet.

I been playing the BJ Thomas one for years

but I can say that the Hoff's Version has been better (as long as you tell them AFTER you play it)

thats when they forgive you for playing it
