Yeah, maybe many of us dabble in a few other means of income, but what is it about the occupation of "DJ" that prompts people to assume there must be more?

If other self employed people say to me "I run a daycare", "I do taxes", "I do roofing", "I detail cars", "I walk dogs", etc.. I sure as hell have enough class not to respond with "That's all you do?".

I get the same thing when I tell people I work on websites/servers (more servers now a days) and they ask me what else I do. Sometimes, I say nothing. Other times I say something pretty arrogant like sit back and watch my paypal account go up while you slave away at some dead end job.

That shuts 'em up pretty fast.
 
Hey - if I saw your show I'd probably ask what else you do too! :)

I tell them I'm an international investment banker. It used to get a laugh - now everyone seems to believe me?
 
I run a Administative Digital Productions Company.when asked what that is,i'm kind of busy right now,i'll explain when i get a chance which is next never.

Trying not to derail Hank's thread too much Wiz, but...

I go out quite a bit -- I just don't advertise it. Almost every pic you see of me is posed, and I do not look like that during day to day stuff ;)

If you saw me walk into a gig you were doing, you would never know I had long hair, or who I was. I like it that way -- gives me freedom to come and go as I please, and check out DJs and bands :)
