While reworking some aspects of our new Photo Booth site and business card. Given that I liked our DJ card so much that was designed by the Hankster. I decided to use the same card and format for our Photo Booth business. Though it lacks the fun of Steve's card. It has the same professional quality which I love to project. And though some on this board did not like my logo very much. I 100 percent love it embroidered on our shirts which is what we will wear for meetings or our events where my wife and I are simply the photo booth people. Final total investment 10,000 dollars but done 100 percent high quality. I did everything that I wanted to do. Even down to perfectly fitting green screen. Our booth is like Steve's a video booth combo of strips, video, green screen, emailing photos and soon Ipad integration.

We will also have an option of a 32 inch LCD which will sit near the attendant so that others can see the fun inside but the attendant can also keep an eye on the stupids that sometimes show up at events. And yes we are going with a Stephen Lynch booth. By the way he has been awesome to work with. You may not be able to tell by the shirt, but it pops with color. Yellows, pinks, reds and whites all on the black shirt. The enclosure can be done in black with choices of door color or white with choices of door color. I have even bough black rubber weights that go on the feet of the stands to hide the silver look. When doing the booth in white they will be left off.

Booth, pipe and drape in multiple formats. LCD 32 inch, back up printer, chrome stanchions & gold braided ropes, cards, main printer. Cases for the booth, signs. Many, Many backgrounds for green screen. Website, multiple accounts, event intelligence, smug mug, props. And the list goes on and on. I wanted the best of everything and that is what I got. I could have easily spent less. But in this market and in my area. Folks sell and diss on what quality people are getting. I'm going to make it very hard to sell against me on anything. I already have 3 clients that want it. And I don't even have the booth yet. Two in June of next year and one for our new years eve wedding. My biggest competition in my area is a multi op with 9 booths that they book all the time. The enclosure is nice but the booth itself is made of wood. I got a kick out of one of our brides for next June she was like "I want the hot pink door version lol "Girls".

Thanks Jon, I have a passion for what I do and I find it easy to sell myself and what we do because of that. I'm proud that today we just go put on one of the best country club lists in our area. They only recommend 2 DJ businesses , us and the multi op that has all the booths. It was a big thing for me, I love it. )

Dave - thanks for the "props"...I like your card; much better than the "shield" logo......

Where did you source the shirts? I'd like to order some as well.... My P & D came with black bases...My exterior will stay black; changing backgrounds inside. I had though about an external monitor as well. I went with a 19" which will allow me to monitor the progress by keeping the Boof log running. That way I can troubleshoot, run extra reprints, etc from outside the booth.

Where did you get cases for the booth?

Wiz - I've got close to 8K in....the booth itself is in the 6K range. I spent 1 K on Pipe and drape and backgrounds, about $500 on props....

Steve I got the shirts from http://www.bizzystitcher.com/ I went with them because they had the camp shirt that I like it. And they did a fantastic job. Getting the logo changed the first time is about 50 bucks but after that you just pay for the shirts.

The cases for the booth are soft cases. He has made them for Stephen before https://lecover.com/ his name is Larry. I could have had the bases powder coated as well. But when I wanted to use them for a white setup it would have offended nature lol so I went with the standard and bought the black weights. And at this moment I'm up to 9600 dollars and still buying props so I rounded the number at about 10k rather than 9610.59 lol.

I had no idea that the photobooth business was such a large investment. I imagine you will make that back after just a few good events so it sounds well worth it. It also sounds like a lot of work. I think I would have to hire someone or maybe even a couple of people to run something like that. It looks really cool and VERY professional. I can see it being very popular and a great way to creat lasting memoies for guests.

Like DJ'ing , you can do it el cheapo or DIY...moist times, it looks that way. I'm in virgin territory here, so my intents was to buy the "Bosch" of the photo booth world.

So far, I've booked a deal to do a bridal show in January; no booth fee in exchange for putting the sponsor's name on the photo strip. My cost for this show will be about 50 bucks...Looking at 400 + brides. I think that's good value.

Doing a show in September in Saint John - 500 +.....couldn't negotiate any deals...the booth space is $499.00.

Put ads on Kijiji (craigslist here)....3 days ago...so far - 4 leads.....

Dave if you need any help on custom layouts, let me know.... PM your email addy; I'll send you the .jpegs and the coordinates so that you can set them up in Boof.....

here is a sample of what I'll offer

Fantastic idea, Steve. I have a meeting with a show sponsor on Monday and might use that same line to get a booth.

Dave -I called Larry at LeCover Re; the covers.....they're essentially a "wrap" with open tops ( I would prefer a full cover).... there are no handles or anything like that. $99 buck per.....

I'm going to try and DIY a cover....I'll post pics this weekend....I am building two carts to move them; they'll be a bit bigger than the base, with caster; the halves will be covered and strapped....

the booth we will be using needs no assistance its a very sophisticated set it and forget it system. Using top of the line components. I will share pics next month as we launch at a bridal show in September. We have 2 possible bookings at this point and will look for the numbers following the bridal show. We will not be making as big an investment but wont be cutting any of the quality the above units are including. More later after the launch.

I like the logo.
I've always been a "less is more" kinda guy when it comes to advertising stuff.
It comes from years of trying to fit 40-seconds of copy into a 30-second radio ad,
just to make the client happy.
At first I thought you should put (at least) the phone number on the logo-only side...
but the more I look at it, the more I think it will FORCE people to turn it over and read the contact info.

I know you didn't ask...but, that image is pretty blah.

Sorry it offends your sensibilities.....it is a work in progress....The planner loved what she saw to date......

Enlighten me...what would you do differently?

Jon - where do your booths come from? The Lynch booth is completely automated. That being said, I want an attendant to control the crowd going in and out, field inquiries, sell it for future events and deal with props....Leave it alone, its bound to get damaged. Also it is run by a PC ....we know those aren't infallible....
