I look forward to your call Jeff. Interesting (but boring) story about this.
I first started the site just to help brides. Then I said to myself "hey, what a great way to get more Dj business, especially if I put myself at the top of the DJ section". So I used it as that which nearly doubled my DJ business.
Then I had a a photographer email me (and then call) and asked how much I would charge to get his listing to the top (cha-ching). Then I started charging for a top listing. Then I had a video guy ask about how much I would charge for a banner (more cha-ching). Then I added a lead generating tool (even more cha ching) and it all just progressed from there. Then I looked for a way to make the sites run by themsleves. I stumbled on a script and then learned more php and MySQL and developed more sites to run off the orginal script.
Then I gave up Djing (almost) and just do wedding websites and they run by themselves. One day I will actually be able to retire doing this (I hope). But now I just do it for fun and I like watching wedding vendors get business because of my sites.
My advice, (the same as Dan and I mentioned earlier), do local wedding sites, not national. Too much competition with national and you won't make a diime. Anyways, I look forward to your call.
