I'm not sure what I want to do about this situation. I haven't used my tablet in a while and noticed when I picked it up from where I put it and noticed the screen was is badly cracked in more then one place. It comes and works OK. I just don't like the screen being cracked. I decided to get suggestions on here if I go to a store to buy another one what would you recommend I won't spend more then $300 for one. I'm not saying I am but just in case I do decide to get one please give me some ideas. No chance ordering one onnline. I would have to go to a store and buy one.

Well, tablets don't typically self-destruct, so someone dropped it or sat on it. Might not be smart to get another until you figure out which happened.

As for a recommendation, the basic Apple iPad was just updated to 8th generation .. will probably see closeouts on 7th gen versions for under $300 shortly. And if you wait 2 months, you'll see lots of sales for Black Friday.

Or you could go get the screen fixed. Around here it's about $100 I suspect in a bigger area like where you are probably $50 or so

Let me Google that for ya

My guess is his tablet is not worth fixing.

If I recall it wasn't worth buying...I figure It'll save him $250 because the same mistake will be made again

I went to a store and the guy wanted $100 to fix the screen. Not worth getting it fixed. I got a lenovo M10 plus for $200. 4 gigs ram and 64 gig internal storage. I bought a 256 Micro SD card and an adapter for my phone to use and everything was less than $243. I know Steve suggested an Ipad whatever. Not here not me. Let me suggest you get wrapped in pleather to protect you. I couldn't resist that one sir. You're alright with me.

Any thoughts on this tablet? I checked reviews on this tablet and the reviews were favorable. The down side was 3 things. The resolution wasn't great playing games, can't view nexflix in HD and the speaker quality is just OK. Nothing that's a big deal to me. I will check it out further when I get time.

Wouldn't it have made a whole lot more sense to ask those questions BEFORE you buy something ??

That’s the same thing I think all the time. I can’t tell you how many times someone will buy a computer knowing that what I deal with everyday then ask me is what they get brought any good. Usually the sad truth is they overpaid & brought something so so. But you really don’t want to say that.

Mix,
What do you want to get to protect your investment is a good case. Although if it’s not a big seller you may have difficulty find a good one. That’s the advice I got from a Apple rep a long time ago when I brought my first tablet. That thing still works even after 7 years but it’s slow. The iPad I brought to replace it has been stepped on & bent, repeatly dropped , sat on, and used like hell. The case protected it.

The benefit of an Apple iPad for someone who really doesn't understand computers, is you can walk into an Apple store and they will help you fix issues.

I will go out today and see about getting one. I also need to find out how to get online with it. I have a hot spot and need to find out how to set it up to use with this tablet. It's setup for the old tablet. let me get ready to leave now so I can get some rest because I have to pick up my friend to bring her to work tonight. So far I'm excited about this tablet. The screen is much bigger then the other one that got messed up. Sorry Steve but I'm done with Apple for life. Besieds I can go to AT&T to find out if they will help me with it. Mainly for now just need to get online.

You don't set up a hotspot for a tablet .. you set up the tablet for the hotspot. Usually done in the Settings app and usually named "WiFi".

And why would AT&T help you with something you didn't buy from them and something not directly on their network???????

I got it done at AT&T because the hot spot is from AT&T. So I'm online and just have to order a case online. Hopefully I can get a screen protector too. Let me try it now.

I hoped you tipped the ATT people for helping you with something that is clearly NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.

And remember, if you connect through a hotspot, you burn MOBILE Data bytes .. if you use more than you're paying for, you get charged overage (and unlimited data may only apply to your phone). You are much better off connecting via WiFi at home and tethering to your phone when travelling .. the hotspot can EASILY burn you.
