I just ordered some new speakers.

I just have to tell this one. I talked to the guy who we do the event for in Branch Brook Park yearly. I told him what happened and he told me he got another DJ to do the event in the park.

I just found out today he still wants us to do the event in the park. Just that we do 4 hours and the other DJ do 4 hours. He said when we get things together to let him know. I talked to my partner and he said that was cool. So we are still going to be in the park the last Saturday in August. He said he might do a fundraiser and have us do that. So things are looking up
Is this the $50 dude whose young son died?

Most importantly, what % interest are you paying? How many months? What are payments?

A young man that works in our plant just bought his fiancé an engagement ring for $9000. He doesn’t have good credit and was surprised he got the credit. I saw his paperwork He put $1000 down and is paying 29% interest. I didn’t have the heart to tell him the jewelry store already made their money by his $1000 down and will give the credit to anyone to get that interest. The mark up on jewelry is that much

He’s paying $240 a month for 8 years and will pay over $14k in interest

I say there’s a huge chance he never pays that ring off. Credit will take much longer to improve, if ever. The jewelry store will take any money they can get, then sell the bad debt to a collector for pennies on the dollar.

He should have bought her Silver instead of Gold, and got a very small diamond in there. Under $500. If she truly loves him the type of ring and how much money he spent on it won't matter! If she leaves him over the cheapness in the ring, then I say he dodged a bullet...Would have ended in Divorce any way :)

...He could have put all that money into something that helps him earn him more money...Like DJ Gear! Or Tools! :)

He could be putting $240 a month into the stock market, OR saving towards a house. Expensive rings are a waste of money, especially when they are lost, or stolen. The expensive jewelry is not the prize in marriage...the man is (for her) :)

Hard to believe you are a married man with that attitude

No, you should just find a woman that doesn't base your entire relationship on a freaking Rock! I know people who spent way way more than they can afford on a Diamond Engagement Ring, and I will tell them that they were unfortunately brain washed into doing so, and buying that ring was stupid.

Large Diamond Jewelry is s scam. Big Waste of Money. Large advertisement campaigning is what made the Diamond Ring popular many decades ago for a man to give to a woman for weddings. Before the millions of dollars in advertising campaigns were put out there, Diamonds were considered a crappy rock. Knowing two craftsman jewelers when I was in the Gold Buying business, and they both told me it's a Huge marketing win for jewelry companies. Diamonds are way inflated in their actual value.

De Beers Marketing Campaign: The modern tradition of diamond engagement rings can largely be attributed to a highly successful marketing campaign by De Beers, a major diamond mining and trading company. In the 1930s, they launched the famous slogan "A Diamond is Forever," emphasizing the eternal nature of diamonds and linking them with romance and commitment. This campaign significantly boosted the demand for diamond rings.

And the 2nd reason why they are so popular in Western Culture:

Celebrity Endorsements
: Celebrities, particularly those in the public eye, often wear extravagant diamond rings, which can influence trends and consumer preferences. When celebrities flaunt their diamond engagement rings, it can spark interest and desire among the general public, further contributing to the popularity of such rings.

So what major material item investment are women expected to pony up money for to enter into marriage with a man these days? We are in fact equal, correct?

I disagree it being a big waste of money. If a person can afford it good for them. The problem is if you can't afford it. There are plenty of things we buy just because we feel we got to have it no matter how much we can't afford it. It's called got to have it habit.

You are an impulse buyer Mix.

You did not need QSC K12.2 Speakers for the types of events you do. You just are compelled to buy things you don't need. Always going with the overkill option. For the events you do, you had no reason to spend over $1,000 on speakers. You also have no need for any speakers that weigh over 40 lbs.

It wasn't a terrible financial buying decision you made, but it wasn't a good or thought out one.

Let me say that you saying I shouldn't have bought those speakers. I should have bought something else for less money is not my feelings. I wanted quality and not just looking to save money. I like having quality speakers and not something just to get by with.

Let me ask this question please. What speakers did you buy and why did you buy them.

Like speakers that will never pay for themselves

There are a ton of options that would a have suited your need much better, I have a set of Peavey DM 112’s that are a perfectly capable speaker $399 you could have bought those, covers, airlift stands, and cables for around $1300 dollars and you would’ve had more than you would ever need for the events you do

What is your problem? Man I got them. You want to trade me for a pair you have? No never mind. You'll probably send some cheap junk you don't want anymore for my new speakers. LOL. Just being silly don't get upset.

Thanks for your advice. That's what you chose. I hear what's being said. Now what if you're doing an event that you need more sound and the speakers can't handle you pushing the speakers to get more sound. You risk damaging the speakers. That's the reason I bought them besides the name QSC.

The problem is you bought speakers for gigs you rarely have when you do bigger events the smarter option is to rent the proper gear for those events

How do you like your next two years of payments? More speaker than most will need for weekly gigs. Rent for the once a year free gig!
This thread must be a scam?
Has your stand arrived?

Macho,

Did you even go listen to the 12.2 in person before buying them? Did you a/b them with something like the dxr12mkii for comparison, being that you love the Yamaha sound?
