I hope I can do the event tomorrow.

I'm not that desperate for work

No matter how good you are you still have to work hard if you want the booking instead of sitting on your butt doing nothing expecting people to just book you just because.

I am selective as to where I agree to do an event and who it's for. I'm not that desperate for work.

All they know is we need money to pay our bills. No s*** me too

I'm confused....you work hard to get work....you're not that desperate....but you need money to pay bills...…....Whatever will be will be, the future's not ours to see, que sera sera

I ask because...
I suspect you ask because you are just too damn nice and, in contrast to your advanced professional practices and success, that you naively believe that there is an ice cube's chance that the answer will verify some scintilla of redeemable experience or quality...

Why are you confused? I was talking about not being lazy if you want work. I feel much better since the surgery and ready to get back to what I love to do. The statement was meant to be general. My friend that did the event I attended Saturday night is working consistently. He's off this weekend but next Saturday he has an event to do. This past weekend he had a job on Saturday and Sunday. Monday he was back at a club called Level 10 in Orange, NJ. A lot of his work comes from referrals. You can't get referred if you're not working at all or barely working.

Oh, OK, you are talking about a friend, not yourself. Glad to hear you're feeling better and ready to get back to DJing. Hoping YOU can find many event opportunities in the coming months. Take a lesson from your friend, don't be lazy and keep building a referral customer base. Soon, YOU may be the one working consistently.
