Last night's wedding was really fun. A smallish crowd, but lot's of energy. Videos soon!!!

Right on!

Mine also was an intamate group.

This was one observation I shared with Dude Walker last night:
Across the hall was a wedding of 220 - I had 68.
The other wedding used a really good local "Beatles-only" cover band.
We both started at the same time.
We both powered down about the same time.
In the waning few minutes of my event, I poked my head into the other one.

Both weddings had around 30 people at the tail end of the time.

That makes staying power percentages:
Me: 44%
The other: 13%

I win!

I just installed Adobe Permire Elements 2.0 on the laptop. The learning curve for this vid production software is a bit longer (may take a day or so to get this one made).

If any one of our dozens of Latin scholars could check, is this close enough?

Venni Vetti Silicis.

Problem...the clip I really wanted to upload is a little less than 2 minutes, but my computer says it's 110MB. WTF? I took it with my 8 megapixel Sony. Is there a way to resize it maybe?

Windows XP with Service Pack 2?

If yes, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Movie Maker.

With Tasks menu button selected, Import Video.

Fid the 110 meg clip and bring it into WMM.

Finish Movie > Save to my Computer (select a smaller size)

Check to see if the compression doesn't totally destroy the audio and video quality.

My last nights gig was GREAT!
300 plus people, 15 in the bridal party, high energy grand entrance (jock jams - "Lets get ready to rumble" into "Get ready for this"

Bride and groom came into Blueman group - Above.

New 10,000 sq. ft. facility. And took my main and backup systems to fill it.

*note I said 15 in the bridal party. The 16th became ill Friday night and was rushed to the hospital and found out she needs a liver transplant. I called and left her a message. Saturday when she had come off the medicine a little she called me back and I recorded a message from her and played it after the toast. BIG HIT! Not a dry eye in the house.

I did have a "first" happen lastnight, tho.

When I end these YouTube vids, I try to make the parting shot the couple 'together - as they are at the end of the night."

The groom took my camera from me, tossed it to his brother and sammiched me between he and his wife.

The brother kept shooting. I found the second shot today as I was working on the video.

I also had a great one. Funny thing is I worked for Beer it appears. After tipping me 75 dollars the groom asked if I wanted to take some of the beer home as they simply couldnt take any more stuff in their car. They gave 2 cases of beer. Heineken (yuk) I gave it to the dumpster diver for watching my van while loading out. The other Granville Island Honey Lager( sipping one as I type) premium yummy beer.
My gig was mostly old folks as this couple had lived together 25 yrs b4 tieing the knot. One toast included a joke about how nice the couple was for waiting 25 yrs so their grand kids could attend.
Got to wear em out for three hours of fun dancing. Will share a semi song list in the next day once I go pull out my paperwork. Left in storage.

Gosh I'm happy to hear, guys.

It's threads like this that keep my faith in the biz. :)

Jay's post reminded me of a Moose Lodge wedding I did several years ago. Upon loading out I was given a 30-pack of Bud Lite and all kindsa food that was left over. I gave the case of Bud to a neighbor and stashed the grub in the icebox. I ate like a pig for a week after that show. :)

On a scale of 1 to 10 for total frustration, I peaked at around 14 with Adobe Premire.
:sqlaugh:

Back to WMM I went.

I showed my YouTube 'homepage' to the hall manager lastnight, and she flat LOVED what was going up there. This will be the third vid from that hotel.

I have some of my 'better' .wmv's on my laptop, and the security guard that worked my room lastnight asked if I "did so-and-so's wedding" because he thought I looked familiar.

Turned out I had that vid on my laptop. He's showing that youtube vid to the B&G today.

Nice stuff, Jay.

Another YouTube subscription added!
(plus you reminded me I need to add "ODJT" tags to all my vids.)
