Just dropped a $1000 on the new Samsung Note 8. I basically run my whole business from my phone. Its worth it.
How can anyone pay $1000 for a phone?:)

I'm all for giving the client extra value. However, I do believe some Djs don't understand what the clients see as extra value.
Just because you paid $500 or $1000 or more for some equipment, the client may not know, understand, or care.
Is it going to make their event better?

Perfect example was when I started using my current equipment, I had many more people coming up and telling me how great the sound was. Some others reported the same thing.

There was a guy that came to the brand's website and said, "Hey, I bought the same equipment and I've had no compliments.". I asked him how many compliments he was getting before. He said none. I told him he has to at least consider the fact that people don't like your music selection, volume, or your sound. We were getting lots of compliments before... Like many others do... It simply went up.

A sound system can ENHANCE what you are doing, but it won't turn a bad dj into a good one.

Another friend of mine has been DJing for years. He's never once bought sound equipment new. He buys cheap used stuff. His presentation never looks better than average. But he's very busy because he's a great dj. People love him.

Point is... Equipment is great, but people see much more value in a great dj vs great equipment.

I paid for the phone I have now in monthly payments till it got paid off. I couldn't have gotten it if I had to pay for it up front. That's how those people who don't have the money up front do it.

I still have one issue. IT'S NOT MY PERSONAL EVENT. I AM DOING THIS EVENT FOR A SUB COMMITTEE. It should be a nice crowd there for the dance because the speaker portion is only 3 hours.

I've done and seen other speakers jam and dance events where the speaker portion went too long and when it's time for the dance, most people are tired and ready to go.

The part in bold letters says (not my personal event) are you doing this event if you are then it is your event
