Know how it feels...
Albany... I know how you feel. Just got over this myself... but I'm not that worried about it.
My Sis-in-law's neighbor is getting married and needs a DJ, soooo my SIL tosses me a bone and gives her my contact info. She's seen the video, read the brochures and all the jazz. She said she wanted to book, for 4 hours I quote her $650... I've given her $125 off the normal price being "nice" (why do we do this?). She then sends an e-mail that is asking me to come down to $600... I tell her no, we've already taken as much as we can off.
She sends back an e-mail asking us to "hold the date". She said "Perfect! We would like to commit to you for our July 11th wedding." She even gets into picking music. We tell her to print off the contract mail it back to us with the retainer or pay the retainer online to reserve. Booked, right?
She sends an e-mail back saying she found another DJ willing to charge $600 and wants us to meet the price...
Ugh, I tell her to go ahead and book the other DJ and we wish them the best of luck in the future! I'm sorry I don't want to work with a wishy-washy person like that when I'm not earning full price.
Whatcha gonna do... this is going to happen, oh well!
