How do you handle song requests at gigs

What really "grinds my gears" is that 6 out of 10 people who make request DO NOT EVEN GET OFF THIER ASS AND DANCE!!! They will give you the head knod and thumbs up but continue to sit down while the dancers clear the floor.

request are both good and evil, they can ruin your night if you get a ton of bad request or they can make your job easy by having everyone select what they want to hear.

My rule when taking requests is that if the requester is not on the dance floor within the first 30 seconds or so, I will fade out the song if nobody else is dancing.

Everything is printed on a catalog on 11x14 paper and sprial-bound at the top by Kinkos with a clear cover on the front, and a black sheet on the back. Real spiffy.

Its separated by genre, artist, and song, alphabetically for each.

Then, they write down requests by artist and song title on another 11x14 sheet with lines and my logo watermarked faintly in the background.

I always keep a writting pad near me to write down any requests *(if allowed)

*this is if the bride and groom has allowed it
or I keep them if needed
