how do i hook up my laptop to an lcd

First of all give us your model # of your laptop and tv so we can know what cables you need.. Once I know this information I can help you. I run a setup like this all the time.

I would use the HDMI out to a HDMI in on the LCD.

Better picture than the S-video.

I looked at the specs for your laptop and it has an intergrated videocard that shares system memory. although this will work with VDJ your cpu ussage will be peaking when doing video. You can use either your hdmi or vga cable to hook up laptop to your tv. Just remember to extend your desktop over the two monitors not just clone the main screen. This way you can have the video playing on the lcdtv and the main program (VDJ) on your laptop screen.
