I posted this in the website forum:

http://www.ourdjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=2114&page=2

But that part of the forum seems to have as much activity as Rosie O Donnell's gym. :sqlaugh: Guys, where are all the web gurus?

Basically I am working on an all Flash website. It is in the creation stages, I am uploading as I create, so it's nowhere near the final draft and there are a lot of "placeholers"

The address is http://mydreamreception.com/beingbuilt

tell me what you think! The only pages that are NOT active are ULTIMATE REPCETION and ABOUT US.

Much Better, (I know you're still working on it)

Text "It's Time Your Dream Reception Came True..." should be the Same as the Next Title Screen (It is a Little Difficult to Read) Maybe Resize?

Much Better with the Instructions!

The Ultimate Wedding Reception & Happy Couples Pages
Link to Main - Doesn't Work, just refreshes the Current Screen

Text "Call Us Today @...." from Photo to Happy Couples, whould again be same as Instruction Screen , I like the Text (easy to Read), I like the Capitaliztion of the First Letter as done on thye Instruction Screen.

Hope I'm making sense, just wanna help!

Looks very nice... load times are very quick

I’ve got a question for all of you. I have been told to stay away from flash by my web design guy (I’m currently having my site created). He doesn’t like using flash, because not everyone has their browser set up to use flash. I figured he knows what he is talking about, but I’m seeing flash used more and more... anyone have any comments?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, your web designer is full of it. I can safely assure you that at least 80% of YOUR users will have Flash installed. If not, it automatically installs.

Use it ONLY if there's a real purpose, it is Google indexable!

i don't think its about having flash installed or not...Its the fact that some people are still on dial up (yes, it seems impossible, i still use dial up at work sometimes)...while on dial up, a Flash page will take years to load. So, you would be shutting out those people from seeing your site.

nice site by the way......

Fred

Fred, that's not necessarily true.

While I optimized my page for broadband, I can cut down on the graphic size and make each flash page 50KB instead of 100KB. Either way, it's still a smaller file size than dial-up.

Unless the Flash page has video or other multimedia, but there is still a preloader on Flash that normal HTML pages don't have.
