SemiRetired DJ

DJ Extraordinaire
Folks:

It has been a long time for me being here. It is not semi retired anymore it is downright done. I actually closed down in 2010.

I saw the handwriting on the wall regarding same sex marriage and decided that since I am a Christian I'd rather get out than get sued.

I still have tons of experience in weddings and parties and will share what I know.

I know that some of you are still going through the COVID-19 lockdown so here is an idea: Wedding ceremonies via Zoom. If you have a small rental space you can dress it up, bring in the wedding party and officiant, and conduct the ceremony there. With a Zoom corporate account you can let the bride and groom get married and share it with friends and family over Zoom and you can make some money doing the facilitation.

Always good to see you Tom we have several retired DJ's here that are active on the board

The Zoom idea is fantastic. I've been doing various things using facetime to let far away people be part of weddings but your idea could be packaged into a complete "remote wedding" offering.

I batted this idea around with Ken Heath; a longtime DJ buddy in California. One of the big things you need to overcome is the number of people you are allowed to have in one place. You might have to break it up into several rooms based on that but with the right camera coverage it could be made to look like one space.
