It's fine. I avoid ladies and gentlemen because it is overused, not because it offends anyone.
The essence of communication is intent.
No one seeks to offend when they greet a crowd with "ladies and gentlemen". The term is not being used in a way to exclude others. It is not the same as saying "hello binary gendered people" and purposely excluding those that feel non-binary. It is the anti "Merry Christmas" argument all over again. No one is seeking to offend when they use that greeting either.
IMHO, the world is too PC. A society can't function when one has to cater to the extremes. Non-binary types are a small percentage of the LGBTQ crowd. I know many LGBTQ people. Their sexualities may be different but they all have binary gender identification. I have yet to meet someone that identified as non-binary. It offends me that someone would think my intent is to offend when using a greeting that is suitable for 99 44/100 % of the crowd.

F all that "gender" BS...a simple Good Evening, Hello, Welcome or other welcoming greeting followed by a simple intelligible request for attention is sufficient.
If anyone finds the phrase "Ladies and Gentlemen" to be offensive, they are weak, pitiful and/or phony triggered morons and their attention is not what I ever seek or require.

I don't give much thought to people that are looking to be offended. Be offended all you want. I was trying to be nice. Get over it.
Just like holidays. I don't celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanza, but am honored and thankful when someone is wishing me a happy anything.
I was listening to a radio show and they had a guest on there who made it a point to look to make it hard to tell Male or female. He/she was saying how offensive they found it when people would make an assumption and call them sir/ma'am. He/she said someone should ask them how they should refer to them. My thought was.....or we can just walk away

You are either Male or female.
You can pretend to be what ever you wish, pretend to be horse's ass for all anyone should care, but that does NOT alter, change or require anyone to ignore. reality.

That's simply not true .. there are people whose sexual characteristics don't neatly fit into male or female. And reality is experiential, whereas actuality is not.

Well, according to statistics and the NIH, it's closer to .02% for true "intersex" and 1.7% for traits not considered binary .. so not a lot, but also not "pathetically" zero. The main point was that reality WAS subjective, since it comes with a point of view.
