Here is what I will be mounting the projector too. Found an old karaoke monitor stand and removed the top portion and it slides into the top of an older speaker stand I am not using.
Ron,
I will assume that this pic is before you removed the top portion and sides, right?

Remember to strap the Projector down.

I did some more playing around with gobos this past weekend. I have a hard time reading the projector menus for adjusting the KeyStone or rotating the image once it is projected on the floor. Gonna have to memorize the steps.

Ron, on rotating, I don't even use the projector's settings. It's easier to just pop the thumbdrive back into a PC, highlight the file in windows explore, then click "Rotate Clockwise" twice. I've had projectors reset orientation before so I prefer to change the picture file.

It would appear that combining these two items (or similar) would allow a projector to be placed atop a speaker/light stand and angled as needed.

The top piece is exactly what I'm using. I have it bolted to a short t-bar, which mounts on top of the crank stand. It looks good and give full X/Y axis adjustments. Here's a pic from last weekend:

OK trying to keep this thread on topic. One of my goals for this year is to move into providing gobos (as you can tell by above postings). I have not offered the service to any clients, because I wanted to get in the equipment and have plenty of time to play with it and learn about this service. My goal is to be able to start offering it by the end o the year. I have been trolling the older posts looking at samples and reading, but was wondering if anyone could point me to a good tutorial maybe, or book, pretty much any resource that can help me out. I have been exchanging private messages with a few of you and I appreciate your help, but do not want to keep hounding these same people with questions. Any and all assistance appreciated. Thanks!

Ron, wanted to throw a tidbit in. Check out the Epson Powerlite units. I don't have an exact model but have seen a couple of 4000 lumen refurbs just below 9 bills. All the stuff I've been doing is with either 2500-2800 lumen projectors.

Thanks for the tip. Good idea.

Thanks, but I already purchased the Epson EX5210 Projector and not in the market for another right now.

That's my main gobo projector, at present. I love the vertical AND horizontal keystone adjustments. Pretty much all the examples I've been posting the past several months have come from that same projector. I'm looking at picking up one of the 4000 lumen models, probably by next year's run.
