Moral of the story, we're not these kid's parents...make the parents be parents.

While I agree in theory; we are "responsible adults and some with kids of our own...I don't think there is anything wrong with "taking a stand" so to speak....or trying to set an example...

Again - to each his own

I'm not getting defensive...just don't like to hear about DJs being unhappy because they're playing music that's against their better moral judgement. I think it's better to take events where you're going to be happy working - might make for a better event.

Anna -I'm simply making choices about the kind of entertainment I offer, as do you Hey if a client wants to pay me a grand to play Buck Cherry and Get Low...the customer is always right.....

I'm always happy workin when there a pay check at the end.

That being said...if I don't have to play it I don't. I find other music that works......

If I was so uncomfortable (say if was all metal music) I would decline the event.

As I said;to each his/her own

Speaking of Def Leppard, POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME is often requested for the cake cutting.

Hey, play YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY (another cake cutting request) and then play POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME, and you will hear how they relate (that is, if you do not know already--I ain't here to patronise anyone, even though using the "ess" instead of the "zed" is superior, just like saying "zed" instead of "zee" :sqlaugh: )!
