I'm doing this wedding close to AMISH country... Lots of rednecks....

Well I see an outside door open and 4 guys come walking in with a big trough.... they proceed to fill it with water. This thing is like 2 feet deep. The bride and groom jump in and start dancing like they are smashing grapes! And most of the crowd was standing around, hootin' and hollerin', clapping their hands.... and I had NO IDEA this was going to happen.

I was told later that this is a local tradition.

I did a wedding where they had Dove release,, when the did, one of the Doves flew righnt into the cake!! messed it up bad before anyone could get there... ..well, it was funny to me!

The groom comes in from the side and his new father-in-law steps up beside him with a shotgun on his shoulder. Yup, it was an honest-to-goodness shotgun wedding in good old West Virginia.

Funniest thing? Well, it's funny looking back on it....

The groom was so drunk he 'relieved' himself in a plant in the hotel lobby. Did I mention it was a FAKE plant?

Also had a local rap artist get married who did a 20 minute free style session with 2 other local rappers. I actually have some of his albums now... check out Arctic Flow Records out of Anchorage.... nice stuff....

I have shared this one in the years gone by perhaps not here if memory serves. I was hired by this Film maker who had won awards in the States who was marrying a Canadian Actress. This party had one ofthe most unusual song must play sheet. Being the flexible customer service minded DJ I am I made arrangements to have each ofthe requests either by purchasing or borrowing the grooms collection of show tunes andalso Moxy Fruvious who was his favorite band. I was waiting to have it flop and have the couple ask me to save the day but believe it or not 90% of the guests along with the Bride and Groom acted out each and every show tune and actually opened the Dancefloor with the Disney classic Be Our Guests. Nearthe end of the night was the topper of weird not funny looking outon the patio and seeingthe groom kissing the Best Man.

This is one I've shared before but it bears repeating. :D

It was back in the early '90s when I was starting to get regular wedding gigs. Did many a show in rented firehalls and the VFW. Didn't get rich doin' 'em but boy, they could be a hoot at times.

In this particular case, there was no bar so the folks brought their own. There were four chunky bridesmaids who had been workin' on the bottle. About two hours into the dancing, the bride asked for some James Brown. I pulled the disc and showed her the label. She chose Get Up Offa That Thing and said to pump it up. So I did just that.

Well, the side door opened and in came those bridesmaids. I guess they'd been out in the parking lot drinking. They rushed to the floor and started gittin' down. Really down. All the way to the floor down. A circle started to form but I still had a clear view. Them bridesmaids weren't wearing any knickers. They were floppin' their dresses all around and didn't care who saw it.

It got better. They were holding on to each other trying not to fall. But they all fell anyway. One of 'em was laughing so hard she peed on the floor. :D

Did a reception at a posh country club. B&G had been hittin' the bottle pretty hard as well.
About the last song of the night....The Bride lowered her top down to her waist and lifted her skirt up to her waist and was just grinding in the middle of the dancefloor on the groom. (I think the song "Brick House" was written just for HER)
Diana and I look at each other and I say to her....."YES...she really is nearly naked"
Brides mother in law grabs a table cloth from a nearby table and throws it over the brides head and shouts..."Barbara.....Behave yourself"!
She shimmy's back into her dress and the evening winds down.
Wished I'd have had a video camera with me then. :)

Picture this the groom is a fireman.....his buddies from the fire station are there.....a bowling ball with a chain attached.....the padlock is a long shank one to accommodate the chain.....chain around leg......lock put in place.....garter/bouquet done.....the portion of the lock where the key goes is put on back wards so its next to the chain.....cant get the key into the lock no way no how.....the crowd is going into hysterics about this......get use to this everyone kept saying.....sock and shoe comes off veggie oil on the ankle the chain is too tight and wont come off......the men finally went to the fire station to get bolt cutters to cut the chain.....while the guys went to get the bolt cutters the wife wanted to dance a slow dance with him. He's carrying a bowling ball just to dance.

An older post of mine, that maybe you never read.... read on...

My 54 year old uncle got married tonight. He is a Philly cop. And he has 5 brothers and a sister. About halfway into the reception the DJ starts playing "The Stripper" for no apparent reason. About 10 men walk on to the dance floor and start strpping off their jackets and shirts.... When they get down to their T - Shirts, they all turn around at once.

The whole place busted up laughing. All the guys have a NAKED picture of my uncle on the front! All different pictures.... apparently a bunch of these guys and their wives went skinny dipping over the summer and some digital pictures were taken!........

Good thing my uncle has a good sense of humor! :sqerr::sqwink::sqlaugh:
