heres the bar pics...

I worked at this place for a few months in the late 90's... it was sorta small but we used to fill it up nicely

the pics were taken from my dj booth area....a crows nest type set up... The dancefloor was on that 2nd floor deck across the room... we normally had about 20 girls dancing on that bar as well...

...not like that!

It was decommed then repoened smaller...within permit limits and only hold about 50 people.

The building has changed hands several times...i have a friend who owns it now...its all live music...they tore out the dancefloor deck so now its a 2 story high ceiling above the stage area

Wait - are you saying the original owner doesn't own it anymore? If only they had security - greedy ba$tard$! And it changed hands several times - all greedy people!

lolol niiiiiiice.... yep...these two spots could have been interchangeable for sure!

For me it may have been the most enjoyable, succefssful, memorable club/bar gig/residency in my almost 30 years djing.

Great owner (still a friend), great staff (still friends with a few), great crowd, and most of all became mentor to and bruthafrumanuthamothernadifferentdaddy to a most trusted friend, ally, and super talented DJ, Jay Whitehurst.

Jay & Me on the CDJS (started w 700s and graduated on 1Ks), my PA gear (EV speaks & Peavey amps), my lights (Martin, etc.), our music & programming in his venue, for his customers and his events ...everyone making money and making parties...not likely to happen in that way ever again.

Long live F&M Upstairs aka F&M Disco.

Well deja vous might have meant"already you" .. ?

DAMN THIS THREAD!

I'm reminiscing and longing for moments not likely to be regained or recreated as there are far too many cheaper options for bar owners to "try"... and dozens have been but to no measurable and certainly no equivalent success. C'est la vie !

Maybe you can find a vanue like Rick and open a college bar..
No thanks...what are we on proposal #20?

Problem with college bars these days, is most college kids are too young to go.
Tru dat...and the current attention span, of possible patrons in that age group is less than a gnat's tolerance.
