Hey folks,
I'm a newbie DnB DJ from the outskirts of London. Done a few gigs here and there, nothin' special. However, I'm going to play in a more or less well known location and wanna do a little promo on my own. A friend of me came up with the idea of printing cheap club flyers at printsafaris .Well, that crackhead did not see it's a US company -> shipping costs awww! Now, I asked a local printer then, he said he could make a run for about 5.000 for around 200 £. I could think about investing so much, however I find myself confused with the question weather flyers are effective at all. I usually never keep them and throw em' away, when confronted with such...
What do you guys think? And has anyone of you any alternatives to flyers? Maybe I should stick to posters?
Cheers in advance!

brochures only work if you give them to the right people
otherwise they are thrown away
if you can leave a bunch at the local wedding venues, bridal and tux shops, and cake makers...
you'd stand a btetter chance of them getting into the right hands

As others have already stated, flyers only work if they are distributed to the right people. One word of advice i would offer---
----DO NOT PRODUCE A CHEAP FLYER!---you will only attract cheap clients. Put your best foot forward and produce nothing but quality in all of your marketing efforts.

Flyers will be a waste, I suggest meet and greet with friends, workers and just being sociable.
