But you said they chose economy over health already. How can they do it again?

They would do it again by Trump getting on TV telling everyone we must open the economy by May 1st as an example, and we will re open the economy regardless of the spread of COVID19. I believe he would do it, and tell governers to start opening their states back up. We could have 390,000 cases and growing, and he would tell everyone the Cure is worse than the disease at this point, and we must move on from the Virus problems.

That would be how we end up choosing the economy over health...again. I believe he would do it, and charge everyone to get back to work because in his eyes, we can't go into the summer on lock downs.

I think it would be the wrong thing to do in terms of saving lives or stopping this from becoming out of control, but they wouldn't care. Also, I believe they do not want to have to go into a 2nd round of Stimulus for the public. ...They had a hard enough time getting $1,200 single payment for people passed. ....All while other countries are paying 75% or more of the public's wages for the entire duration of their lock downs.

Restarting the economy doesn't mean everything opens at once.

It will take WEEKS for various sectors of the economy to open back up regardless.

But, they say you should not re start until the curve has been completely flattened on the virus. THe likelyhood of reaching a curve flattening is pretty low to occur before Memorial Day weekend. ...We don't even have masks for everyone to wear while out in public. Chinese doctors said the reason they were able to cruch the virus is because they made people wear masks to stop the spread while out. ...Less than 20% of people have masks to wear here in the USA...Our hospitals staff are even out of masks at the moment. ...China had plenty of masks in stock. ...Because they make them there.

Not if they can narrow the new cases to say NYC, New Orleans and maybe LA (or whatever) .. then they can reasonably open up other parts of the country first .. say North Dakota .. :)

Rocky is NOT going to stand for that. He needs to get back to deejaying events ASAP. ...They better open up The Big Easy quickly!
He does some of the floats in the Mardi Gras parades, so he can probably do those weekly (assuming they keep 6 ft away) ..

It's been years since I've been there as well. I used to stay at the Marriott Inner Harbor when on sales calls in the area. Started going down in the early 80s when a friend moved nearby. I remember the Powerplant that used to be an indoors Six Flags. I remember a large indoor music venue that had 2 floors and multiple "bars" inside .. including a disco, a library (with harp) and a rock stage on the ground floor in the middle .. forget its name.

Ram's Head is what it's called now. Not sure if it changed names.

Trust me....you do not want to walk around downtown Baltimore day or night...had a guy get shot at Noon in front the Arena a few weeks ago.

Yes I agree. I will go down town once in a while, but I am parking in the nearest parking garage, and walking directly to the restaurant I want to patronize, and walk directly back to my vehicle, and leave. ...Also, parking garage rates sky rocketed in the last year or so down town Baltimore Inner Harbor.

WIth all this going on. I would not bother venturing into the city at all.

Pick your favourite...Unless it's N95 or comparable these will do the same job and maybe better. Washable and reusable too. I wear mine when I'm out now I just have the bandanna style you can see it on my face in this pic

If I need an N95, I have a few left over from when I bought a dozen for drywall sanding .. maybe I have 4 or 5 left. The thing is unless you are in direct contact with those affected, the masks really don't do much, since the viruses can get on your face and then into your nose/mouth when you remove the mask. They ARE helpful if YOU have (or might have) CV19.

We haven't chosen economy over health for the first time, so there certainly can't be an 'again'.

Could he choose to do it, absolutely. Will it work? I doubt it. As you've been witness to, people don't like to be ordered what to do - and they're brazen enough to do the opposite.

They're having a hard time getting the stimulus package passed - not because it's too much money - most of it is because no one can get along in Congress and the WH.

As for other countries paying 75% of peoples wages, I highly doubt this is an accurate number. Additionally, we're the last ones to get hit with this, so it only makes sense that we'd be the last to issue funds.

Sadly, that's the closest Hooters in MD (maybe the only Hooters).

I'd guess they will be a casualty of this downturn. They have been dying for years, this could be the nail in the Hooters coffin.

Could be. There's a few in VA. One of the copycat's (Tilted Kilt) have all opened and closed in the last few years - but Hooters remains open. Like everyone else, their dining rooms are closed but pickup is available. Their wait staff is in the same boat as everyone else.
