FBT ProMaxX Series Speakers

I am not sure if this has been raised yet, but I just saw that FBT has released a new series speaker called the ProMaxX series. They will have powered and passive models. Neat new model that I noticed and not seen before is a 14" model speaker. Light weight, I believe about 36 lbs. for the powered model, 135db.
I own the FBT HiMaxX 40a's and they are really great sounding speakers.

Does anyone know when they will be released in USA? Currently, they appear to be Europe only. Anything also on pricing?
Also, how may this series compare to the HiMaxx series for quality, etc. ?

I am sure Maestro will chime in on this one. He is also a big FBT fan.

Hey Steves loving his FBT and I agree they are very nice. The new RCF stuff is incredible too. We got to hear some at a local demo a few months back. Also the new FBT 100o Watt unit I think it was. Pretty freaking awesome.

I have not yet heard the new RCF stuff, but I think this PROMaXX stuff from FBT is listed at 900 watts. As I recall, the Promaxx 14a is a 135db and 900 watts, split at 600/300
If they sound anything like the HIMaxx series, this will be awesome stuff. I have never seen a 14" model before this. Weight = 36 lbs. They are using the same chasis ( for lack of better terms ) for the 12" and 14" models, so not only are they light, the 14" model is no larger than the 12" model.
FBT truly rocks!
 
I have heard through the grapevine that the ProMaxx series will replace the MaxX series which will be discontinued...It is not necessarily an upgrade of the HiMaxx.....I believe the new series will be priced somewhere in between the Maxx and HiMaxx. It will not be available in the US market till some time in September or later..

My own speculation is that the ProMaxx series is FBT's attempt to compete with the QSC K series.

I am like Music Maestro in that I love and use FBT products thus will seriously consider purchase of probably the ProMaxx 14's.

RCF is absolutely awesome, i actually know the reps of that company well. If you were at the DJ Expo and saw their active 21 inch subwoofer ( AMAZING ) , I actually left the Expo and loaded THAT subwoofer into my car, i have it on demo for a couple weeks, because my company has done work for them in the past. In 2 weeks they are bringing their Active 7000 watt Dual 21inch Subwoofers to richmond to let my company check out, And believe me, i'm EXCITED :) Definitely look into RCF, Between them and Ev they are the only 2 brands of speakers i run

I love RCF. Cleanest sounding set of tops I own. But the newer stuff is just so pricey. Hey you get what you pay for.:trismug:

Very true, you'd pass out if you knew the price on the dual 21's he's bringing to show me, BUT he did promise they will be the " Most Powerful Subs i've ever heard , and a pair can do a coliseum " if they hold true to that promise it's hard to put a price tag on them :tribiggrin:

So true. I can imagine what that sub will sound like. The drivers they use are the cleanest on the market. In a couple of years I would love to sell everything I have speaker and amp wise and just settle for an all RCF rig. 2 18" subs, 2 15" tops and 2 12"tops for smaller events would be ideal for me.

The coolest thing about RCF is EVERY single one of their cabinets has a specially designed speaker and transducer setup in it. They design each speaker unique and then build the box around it, they don't just use the same speaker in any 2 boxes, and the build quality is amazing. I would agree that if you went all RCF it would cost a lot but that would definitely be a dream come true.
 
IF you ever heard the Cobra system from Dynacord I would love to hear anything that could exceed the power and clarity that system offers. Ask Cam, Val and several others who heard them a few yrs back at MBLV.
 
I've had RCF Active speaker since 1999. They are a superior sounding speaker. The ART 200A's are a 12" woofer but sound like a 15". I have the subs that go with that series, ART 800A's (15") but only 400 watts each. Tops are around 200 watts. The clarity is awesome and the subs thump pretty tight too.
For larger events I use the RCF tops with a pair of Yorkville NX750P's and they do work well together.
 
RCF's TT series could definitely blow them out of the water Jon.......Shoot you should hear this RCF Active 21 that i brought home with me from the DJ Expo, Amazingly powerful and tighter bass than i've come to expect from 21's. It blew away the Yorkville 21's that were at Expo and the Yorkville sounded muddy next to the RCF and yes i made them do a side by side for me :)

I love the Yorkie LS 800 series sub. But I knew when Yorkville made that 21" it was going to be a flop. The guys from Mainline had one in there booth at AC and it just did not sound good to me. I had a nice run with my Yorkville gear especially my subs. Them boys in CA NA DA know their stuff and it's nice to know that Yorkville is stuffing B&C and RCF drivers in their top of the line stuff.

yep, the 21 from the mainline booth was the one i hooked the RCF up next to and the RCF blew it away and was Sooo much clearer :)
 
oops fellas wee got off topic this is about the FBTs and Im sure if they have anything in compare though a bit more pricey they will liikely hang with or exceed anything. within their market range.
 
I believe it has been proven in many listening tests that RCF Active Speakers are preferred when used with a sub with FBT winning hands down when used stand alone especially in terms of bass.

I do many gigs with FBT MaxX 4A and Hi MaxX 40A's stand alone however do use a pair of lightweight EV SB2A Powered Subs when I want a little extra bass.

I do await with anticipation the arrival of the FBT ProMaxx series.
 
RCF ART722a vs FBT PromaxX 14a Which one is better? I'm planing in buying a set and i'm not sure which one to go for! Please give me your opinion!!!
