Coolness. In this day and age there are a lot of companies to choose from for any product or service. I think when you have contact to employees or the company in general on twitter, MySpace, Facebook, or crazy DJ message boards (hmm?) it makes them seem more accessible and personal. And you always want to do business with friends/people you know. Nice job, NLFX peeps.
We originally had a group on FB but decided a fan page would allow us to market our products better. I launched the fan page Monday and we're up to 142 fans. Hoping to get up to 200 within the next week.
Nice, Jim. I always try to tell people that the fan page is the best and proper way to market on FB. Groups just sit there and don't update members. I also see a lot of people creating a PERSON type profile for their business but it's against Facebook's rules and you run the danger that eventually it will get shut down *poof* and you'll be left with nothing.
Other advantages to Pages over Groups...
You can use HTML and Flash on Pages (see mine).
And Pages can be viewed by anybody, whether logged into Facebook or not.
EDIT (Hmmm, I just noticed that the layout of my Facebook Page is broken in IE, view it with Firefox to see the correct layout. Gonna have to look into that.)
