You also have to remember one thing if your RANE is and behaves like my MP44 it has a very hot (Strong) output. I trim my channel gains and the Master fader doesn't go up very much. I love the clean sound, but if your files have clipping you're sending distorted sound. Curiosity got me and I checked an iTunes mp4 that my nephew bought and when I opened the file in my audio editing software the amount of clipping present was out of this world. So check your files and make the proper adjustments you'll save yourself a lot more headaches in the near future.
